Hey guys

Just thought i'd share a few photos of my cordia before it goes away.

Had the car since I was 17, almost 10 years ago now. Bought it with 150,000kms on the clock back in 1999. Immaculate orginal condition, and came with a 10 disc CD stacker and nice sound system. Car was a credit to previous owner and he was pretty upset to see it go.

Had a few offers over the years, notes left on my car and friends wanting to buy it off me but couldn't bring myself to part with it. All my mates were on their 2 and 3rd cars but the cordia never let me down. Replaced the usual clutch, cvs joints, a radiator but had no major problems.

About 2 years ago started going downhill but, didn't have undercover parking, the paint on the bonnet started to fade (oxidation and think now clear coat failure?), first little bit of rust appeared, and a month ago at 235,000kms the head gasket decided to go.

Looked around for 3 months for another GSR Cordia in good orginal condition but had no luck and now own a Toyota MR2.

Have to admit the seats in the Cordia fantastic and they are great cars.

Cheers.

I was pretty happy getting 10 years out of the car, when I did get to 235,000kms i wasn't sure how much was left in it. But the smoke out of the exhaust and having to top up the coolant was a bit of a give away of the head gasket on the way out.

Just a shame the quick demise. Being garaged all its life and only avg 5,000 a year helped it survive but all went downhill pretty quick the last 2 years sitting at a train station in the weather.

Is a bit sad to seeing the lack of Cordias and Starions on the road.
