Trav, not the oil pump housing but the oil filter housing (I think you mixed them up?). I will be porting the pressure relief exit on the oil filter housing to match the size of the inlet. This needs to be done because the balance shafts have been removed and the engine will now suffer from undesired (excessive) oil pressure. Porting the relief will keep my bearings and seals happy, Ill post pics when im at this stage.

Btw how is your car coming along? Keep at it mate and don’t loose that motivation, it’s hard to get back.

Cheers for the offer mate but I have far too many hands already.

My day started with towing the old girl to Cordia Smash Repairs,
Image
I then removed the struts and prepared the strut tops to suite the BC coilover top hats.
Image
As well as this went, I have not yet test fitted the coilovers as it turns out the top hats require some modifying as well (more on this later).

Seams prepared for welding.

Love the bay and the attention to detail. Surely you will notice a lot more rigidity now.

Received my new dba4000 rotors and QFM A1RM pads (Front and Rear) today.

This should keep me satisfied until I can afford bigger and better.

And this is to answer Andrews question in regards to the modified coilover top hats and strut towers.

What size are the rotors Koray?

Are they 4 or five stud?..............can't really tell due to the plastic.

The rotors are 4 stud 276x24mm to suite my vr4 twin pots.

When I do upgrade to a larger setup, I will go 5 stud.

As much as I would love to, (unfortunately) it is not an option. There was nothing wrong with the car prior to the rebuild, if I wanted it for running around it would have stayed the way it was.
Now, lets not forget the reasons why I went ahead with this build, they were to have the car perform they way I wanted, anything less than this and it would be just like every other car to me.

Thanks mate,

I’m glad not much modification was required for the install and that there was no need for additional holes in the towers.
Hopefully this will now help members who where considering the conversion actually go ahead with it!
