Thanks mate.

I’ve had about 5 ETA's already lol, The date just keeps changing as I spend more and more on her.

I would love to have her done by summer, ready for a long ass cruise and a few hard runs down the quater :D

This is long overdue Koray but your plans have changed along the way and you're doing everything right first time round.
- Standard rebuild is now a forged rebuild
- Coilovers
- Clean engine bay

Keep it up mate. One reason why I haven't sold my Cordia yet (ONE LAST CRUISE!).

when are we setting up the next cruze??

there are a lot or cars in the works in melb and would be so nice to see a cordia cruze set off with more then 10 cars.
has been a long time since i think any of us have seen that

The arrival of parcel (Thanks Brad) has given me some motivation to work on Pinocchio today.

So…….what’s in the box, what’s in the box, what’s in the box today?

Is that a Kaaz 1.5way mechanical lsd?........................ I think it might be :D

Also a few months ago I rebuilt the brake and clutch master cylinders, here’s a pic

I was very fortunate to have purchased some of Brads goodies, I still can’t believe his car ended this way and that engine has not yet sold. Any ways if I can’t run into the 11’s with this diff, mine will be stripped as well.

But on the brighter side of things, Trav sorry mate but I will have to bust your balls yet again, im in need of even more gear oil (lol) but this time it’s for the lsd. Ill call you mid week.

Diffs in VR4 box's (according to Jay) don't fit as they run a different array of bolts and cannot easily be adapted to a cordia box. Though apparently the "rare as hens teeth" Eterna diffs fit.

I’m quite confident I now know the part number for this lsd, though I will need to confirm how it was modified to suit.

would you be better off locking a 4wd evo 3 box for FWD ?

I found out abit about marks box , but is was mostly custom

if I wasnt going 4wd later I would fit a LSD in there

if you need gearbox oil bud let me know as I have always got it in stock

Im doing my evos drivetrain within the next week or two also

Locked Evo 3 route would be the easier/easiest option, though it will be expensive and will require part of the driver’s side rail to be cut. I considered this option (but with a vr4 box instead) and never ended up going down this path as it’s just not worth it. I would much rather a Cordia box with Lsd as they are stronger IMO, one tenth of the cost and faaaaaaar more readily available in Melb.

I will either run the factory Diaqueen (Lsd version) oil like Barry does with his Kaaz diffs or the Kaaz oil like Brad did. Both are old school proven so I’m not too fussed but the Diaqueen is faaaaaaaar cheaper, more available, proven to work and GL4, therefore safer on our non ferrous synchros.

I know 11’s won’t be easy but it’s definitely something I have been working towards for a while. If when she is built it’s going to continue being too far out of reach, I will consider the inevitable (But lets not speak too soon :D).

its good to have a goal, I always just like putting the cars together , then I usually get board of it , but with this car Ive set myself a few different setups to get to ,

it would be great to see 11s out of it though, I think baz will be a good FWD competitor to go dragging with also , Im hoping for just under 15.4s ... lol

Trav you will achieve 15.4’s easily, your car has gone on a diet, has good suspension, a rebuilt motor, a decent sized turbo and most importantly a set of semi’s. I think you should aim more for somewhere in the 14's and take it from there, especially if you are going to make power similar to that of your last setup. Who previously has run this 15.4s pass which you would like to beat anyways, lol was it a friend or yours?
FRONTN wrote:

With adjustable suspension, a relatively small turbocharger and a Varex, I can’t see why it wouldn’t be. Besides, Melbourne roads aren’t too bad and it will not be driven anywhere near the city, at least not during traffic, lol.

Ill be at Heathcote on the 6-11 to watch both your cordia’s (+Tmak) run, it will be an awesome day! Might even give some of the Evo guys a scare.

Trav, you should also wire up an incab Hi/Low switch for the gearbox. There is Plenty of fun you can have experimenting with 8 gear ratios:).
