It has finally been done!

I've just completed upgrading the forum to the latest version (phpBB 2.0.19). This should prevent or at least substantially reduce the account spam we've been experiencing lately.

Some of the plugins and previous features like quick reply will be reinstalled shortly.

Thanks for your patience guys.

Cheers

Kham

I've tested it on FireFox 1.5 and I'm able to log in. It could possibly be a cache issue. Try clearing your cache and see it that helps.

How about installing "Ban_Morons Vers 7.5" a plug-in that can automatically detect Roger's pathetic attempts to get back on Cordiapower and instantly ban him, regardless of his location, or whatr computer he's using....??

Account spam as in those "poker" and "sex" user accounts that we've seen lately. These are generally created by bots (Web programs).

The new version of this forum has the "word verifcation" feature so each user that signs up needs to type in the letters before the registration can proceed. This prevents automated registrations from the bots.

kham, perhaps you should disable the "guest" account, as most of these people are posting as guest, (as well as roger!)

most forums have this disabled anyway

Guests are only allow to post in the feeback section. This is allowed in case users ever encounter login problems and need to notify someone. If we get more of these "spam" posts I'll totally disable guest posting.

Guest posting has now been disabled in the feedback section.

I've realised it's already getting pretty bad.
