hey fellas just wondering what the difference is in the two, alot of people have big cannons on their cars these days, is it for performance wise or personal preference?

Personal preference.

A good straight through muffler is plenty, cannons are a lot for the wank factor.

A cannon is a muffler, a dumpy is just a piece of metal tube welded to the exit of the muffler, either pointing straight or downwards, the dumpy dont play any part in noise or power delivery.

Any straight through muffler will do the job, and make sure the lenght is under 8-9 inches. Also it would be pointless adding a muffler with a factory exhuast system, so do you have a factory or a bigger exhuast?

hey fellas, its a 2.5 inch exhaust system all the way through, with a resonator in the middle, dumpipe has also been changed, and at the end theres my dumpipe which is connected to what looks to be a cat thats like 60cm long (those rectangle ones) not sure if this is restrictive?

I disagree. Cars with restrictive mufflers obviously benifit from a less restrictive muffler being shoved on the end :)

In my experience a "cannon" style muffler is never gonna be as quite as a standard oval style one. Somethin to keep in mind if you dont wanna stand out too much
