Nah, go for the econmoical write off, buy it from insurance company for next to nothing and then go rego it again....make some money from insurance, they have been making it off you for years.

in vic if you have an economic write off now it has to be returned to factory standard and then has to be presented to vicroads with a roadworthy for a "vehical identity verification inspection" which costs $500 odd and takes a day at least before it can be reregistered

i found out with my ute the hard way, even things like the led lights i but on the tray instead of the std ones wouldnt pass... something they brought it to stop rebirthing but in the process screw anyone with an older car

vivs don't effect cars before a certain date.

"Vehicles recorded on the Written-off Vehicles Register are late model (not more than 15 years old) motor vehicles less than 4.5 tonnes and motorcycles."

straight from vic roads website so that's ok.

stat write offs are different but yeh older than 15 years doesn't matter theres a special section for 4x4s too jimi might be worth a look at for you if u need.

they dont have to wright it off they will just pay you out.

i just had the same thing happen to my 1994 magna i kecp the car for scrap price $200 its did not affect RWC or reg at all
it will all depent on what insurance co but this was done through just cars.

try n make some cash out of it mate, means you can spent it back on the car

by law insurance companies HAVE to notify vicroads if the car is deemed a writeoff in anyway (well thats what i was told)

then i got a letter from vicroads saying that rego was being suspended on a certain date unless the car had completed the viv requirments

i dont see why 4wd's would be treated differently... and i remember the bs about the same time as my accident because all the cars from the hail damage 10-11 months ago were being written off and having their rego cancelled by vicroads...

whatever... if you reckon your safe, go for it, but personally i wouldnt risk it, already been burned once, thats enuf for me

4wd's are almost clased as a truck and are needed strutual corection. had that come up a bit when i was a panel beater.

but cars can be just as unsafe

SO sounds like she has zero cash and no point taking her to court when she will just not pay the fine any way.

i have most things found a place the will fit the panels i supply and paint it all for 1200 or full spray for 2k including all the work. so time to think, my problem is the rad support is bent so i cant fix that my self
