Got a head for a cordia turbo for free
Gave a clean .
It appears to have been caused by the fire ring on the head gasket
Is this common on this car?
Will I be able to have the head resurfaced?
It looks deep

No, we care..........that head looks buggered, you might be able to get it alloy welded and refaced...........looks like the head gasket has rusted to cause the damage to the alloy.

Facing the head alone will render it useless.

Does anyone know how much would
Cost just to recover black velour on driver side?
Like in this pick you see the orange sponge coming out.
I would like to keep it as original as possible
Don't wont to change the centre pattern of seat

Looking good, if you have a sewing machine the drivers side repair is easy..............just means you will have to use VHT black to paint the rest of the seat as it won't match.

If you can get the outer skin off (not hard just need a hog ring remover and unzip the back) an upholsterer may only charge $100 - $150 to stitch in, means you will have to put it back on.

What's next?

Brake upgrade to 266mm AC or magna?

Never liked the 243mm the AB's come out with, very easy to heat up and loose pedal!

Personally multipoint only makes the engine more economical the power increase is minimal.

The 62 has a badly designed inlet manifold, cylinders 1 & 4 always run a little "lean" where 3 & 2 always run "rich".

Up to you though, a fuel only ECU is needed or you can "piggy back" the current ECU.

what kind of power output would i get out of it?

My old 62 made 180 FWKW until reliability became a problem, mid you that was running a T35 and a crow 280 degree cam with 28 psi boost.

Image

Standard I would say between 110 - 120 Kw.

At the moment the way my car is ,what's the most I can boost with stock ecu?
I think factory ecu has something to stop from over boosting
I think the most will boost 12 psi but im not sure just guessing
Something I read on web but it was not about cordia some other car.
oh by the way i picked up 2inch straight pipe exhaust has a silencer :D

update on my new ac engine
the engine i pick up is ac model has less kms them my original one AB model over 300.000kms .
the Ac model bugger wouldn't start cause had massive amounts of carbon keep valves open.
so i removed head ,carbon was bad, black like charcoal.
unfortunately pictures didn't come out of the scummy filthy head ,valves, pistons.
only got after all cleaned.
