your better off with a standard to be honest, it will last , its best to get new head bolts too

if you use a cometic gasket , you should also use copper spray

I might have a gasket at home new , but I have to check if its ok , I will let you know , if its ok its yours for free

I only used the standard ones, two of them and a metal head gasket :)

Maybe an overkill but we trashed those cars and never had to replace them again.

Good old SOHC, found these pics the other day.. good old days

update:

got all done :D
tried to start but shes been stubborn. :(
found no fuel going in ,checked pump all working .
i had the fuel line replaced as the fitting on my one was stuffed.
so decided to remove hose and check for blockage and it was blocked as you can see in pics.
managed to unblock hose connected all up .
now leaks fuel from fitting rubber o'ring replaced rubber o'rings still leaks.
now im thinking this hose is of AC model the throttle body i got is AB model.
maybe theirs a size difference .
so i tried putting rtv on it let it dry see what happens tomorrow.
my battery gone flat as well

I just double checked both versions........AB, AC are the same size fitting, are you sure nothing was "stuffed" in the return line?

Technically you can't, does fuel come out the end of the fuel rail with the rubber return line disconnected?

If not, the regulator is blocked, you can tap with a hammer to see if the diaphragm will release from the seat, or run the engine and block the return line to achieve the same result.

I removed rtv hose from the regulator top thing replaced it
with the AC one no more leaks fuel return is working now.

still won't start!
we have good spark blueish color, good flow of fuel.
i have checked leads and plugs all good
cylinder 1 plug was wet the rest of plugs dry.
im little confused with workshop Manuel cause has 3 or 4 cars
so not sure if im dealing with cordia or galant, mirage etc.
i did the timing belts spot on my son had a look.
now with the dizzy in the book needs to be tdc with the rotor in angle like 1 o'clock
as for mirage is pointing down 12 o'clock.
in the pic i wrote the numbers of the spark plug leads how i have them
