compression test dry.
4 cylinder 3 cylinder 2 cylinder 1 cylinder
125 psi 95 psi 95 psi 125 psi

compression test wet.

4 cylinder 3 cylinder 2 cylinder 1 cylinder
140 psi 100 psi 100psi 125 psi

now on the 1 cylinder in wet test is the same does it mean
bent valve?
Bolting the head
start in middle and spiral outwards done it in 2 stags
1 stage; 65nm, 2 stage ;90nm i should have gone 3 stages up to 107nm.
i thought only for compression check.
this engine is just as fu... as my other one
going to replace rings as well as the valve.

i would like some opinions please whats the best thing?
besides taking it down to scrap metal
any help thanks

update

done stage 3
also found out my compression tester tool was leaking
from the fitting it came apart.
got working again cylinder 1 now reads 145psi wet
i checked other no change

i never bought piston rings so im looking at this ad
and says a set of rings does it mean for 4 pistons or 1 piston?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121675107993 ... EBIDX%3AIT

they take forever to answer my questions.
also ad doesn't say the size rings are they for stock pistons
or oversize :(

supercheap auto list the rings $59, probably not chrome though.
They normally come as a complete set for all 4 pistons
http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/spare-parts/parts-finder.aspx

acl number for chrome is C1810 and plain PS1810

Your compression readings state a blown head gasket between cylinders 2 and 3, quite common if the head gasket has been replaced with an aftermarket one.

62 requires a gasket from mitusbishi as it has the "cut out" of the exhaust valve..........all aftermarket cater for 62 and 63..........not good as there is 3mm difference between the two...........these gaskets don't last long on the 62.

Image

Aftermarket gaskets are totally round.

i read some where a while ago,by applying copper rtv very thin layer with your finger
around the metal rings in gasket it prevents gasket distorting .
