Still here, but I'm trying to chase some hydraulic slipper rockers off either a 2 litre 63 or 2.4 64.........pretty hard to find.......after I get these parts I can update my thread. |

Dear Bitza, i noticed that your doing a somewhat, overhead roller rocker conversion on one of your cars, or attempt to do same. However, all i want to know is, why???. The factory rocker arms are good and strong for what they are, be it a standard engine, or a 300kw engine setup, single cam or twincam. My opinion, your wasting your time on the cars your playing with, you will gain nothing. In the V8 world, they have YELLA TERRA etcetera, different story, but all this major work for a what, a 4g62 single cam or 4g63 single cam?? Im sure your doing homework and experimenting etc. |

i think will be good to know. experimenting is fun most of the time and if it works for improving hydraulic slipper rockers. why not  i got given a cordia gearbox but but but the previous owner opened it he was curious what it looks like inside . he tried putting back together ,failed miserably. so soon i'll have gearbox project ,im in middle of 180sx too busy. im glad you guys are here i was feeling lonely in forum

Im sure your doing homework and experimenting etc. As you are probably aware this is NOT a performance mod.........the 62 SUFFERS badly from having adjustable rockers (as the factory tappet geometry when closed only sits on less than 1/4 of the valve head), even after my engine is hot and with a clearance of 0.80mm inlet and 1.25mm exhaust the fudging thing still TAPS AWAY quite loudly. With clearance that wide on the exhaust, its no wonder giving you grief. Adjust it to 10 thou, or 0.254mm. With a 1.25mm exhaust valve clearance, as you state is your engines current measure, its equivalent to 50 thou. Thats almost the same spec of a spark plug gap. Its massive and wayyyyy to much for a valve clearance. |

Sorry I'll start that again: 0.08mm inlet 0.12mm exhaust. Always forget my zero positions. Standard : 0.15mm inlet 0.25mm exhaust Little bit of a difference but the tapping is still there. |

Had a strong sense it was a simple typo. I believe the only option you have is to just run with thicker oil. |

well only have buffing left on the nissan 180sx took my car for run with no plates only around block police stop me lol. i told them just had it restored testing brakes and suspension lol they looked around my car admiring how good car looks . constable greyum said he use to have one back the day hwy patrol. we had a good talk about back the day anyway i was left with warning it was all good fun |
