It was just the stocky 1.8. All shifts were at 6200rpm though and my launch was better than I had ever managed. I could normally only ever manage 14.2 on most of my other attempts. The RPM heavy duty clutch was also only about 6 months old.

It was (still is) a 1.8, the turbo is good though unlike the tc-06's

Yeah I absolutely loved the work ATS did on the turbo. The compressor wheel that was fitted is actually 1.5cm larger in diameter than the standard TC05 compressor wheel. The inlet was also ported slightly. It's also water cooled. It is true that some TC05s are only oil cooled?

Hey,

Since the GTech has been given the nod in this top ten, here's mine:

Alex -> 13.95 @ 173km/h, 5.82 0-100km/h, AB model, Standard TC06, 1.8 litre, 20 psi, RX7 front mount, 2.5" press exhaust, 15" Magna rims with 205/50 tyres, 10 BTDC timing, 'Ralliart' style airbox with holes, Unifilter. Oh and a mate who weighs 100kg sitting beside :-)

I also got 107 kW at the wheels on the dyno with about 16 psi of boost.

By the way Kham, which compressor wheel did you have in your hybrid turbo?

Alex

I'm not sure which turbo the compressor wheel is made for. The guy just told me it was 5mm larger in the inducer & 15mm larger in the exducer.

ATS stands for Australian Turbo Services. They are very well known for their VL turbos. They are based in Tullamarine in Melbourne.

why are Gtech times so inaccurate?, i've never used one, or a strip either so what would I know, but I would have a thought a Gtech would be super accurate. At least you have a cordia to be slow in Black :D, i don't get mine for another 2 weeks :(

I am pretty sure all of the error comes at the start as it has problems timing over wheelspin.
