Have just suffered from injectors leaking from under the plastic molding.
Just wondering if anyone has tried a different injector :?: if so what problems
if any did you have eg: did it run rich or lean or ok?
Was looking at siemens 870cc , it fits into the throttle body perfectly
the noozle is about 7-8mm longer than the original. But the fuel rail would
need to be drilled out to about 14.5mm diameter to fit the top of the injector,
also 2mm spacer between tb and fuel rail would be needed from what i can see.

I was just thinking as original parts are old and hard to get this might be
a alternative as mulitpoint is fairly costly.

What about the 45 deg angle can u still get the clip on with the injector cover back on :|? few bucks in fabricating they look like they could work and im guessing a shit load cheaper than multi point

what size are std injectors ? :d

Yes you can use injectors like that. I actually use ones like:

These dont need any machining just a couple of spacers under the fuel rail/regulator. Make sure you buy the right size ones though.

you could cut the top 2 ribs off the siemens injector and put 3, 11mm o-rings on it to get it to seal in the factory fuel rail. i did this on a mazda rotary and it worked fine. never leaked in the 2 years after i did this mod.

The factory computer will run these injectors as they are low impedance. as for the size, get the siemens injector and the factory one flowed by a injector cleaning place to find out any difference in flow rates. i believe the siemens flow 870cc at 2.5 bar of pressure where as the cordia ones are apparently 880cc but at what pressure i do not know.
Even with the old injector leaking you will find out what the difference is.

Didn't think about cutting down the plastic ribs.
Will endeavor to get original injector and one of these
flowed at same pump pressure, then i might have some
useful info as the siemen ones cost about $100 ea and would
make a cheap replacement.
If there is only 10cc or so flow difference they should work fine. 8)

The only other consideration is whether or not the injector plug will clip onto the siemens injector being at a 45 degree angle.

Ok since ive fitted a Big intercooler and 2.5 inch zorst and
boost controller running at 12psi, the engine has had a quite a
bad miss at around 5000rpm and above, figured it must
be running leaner with cooler air .
So i decided to fit the siemens injectors [still havent had the
cordia injectors flowed ] to see if it was any better.
So now from about 3000rpm up the car runs great below this
it runs with a bit of a miss and a flat spot at 1200-1500 rpm
figure its running lean at low speed now, have blocked up
the 4 tuning holes in the afm, should i sleeve down 1 of the 2
bigger bypass holes say by 2mm diameter or is there another way
of adjusting mixtures?
any ideas out there?

Altering the size of the air bypass holes i believe is the only way to do it. I think on the american starquest forums there is a write up on how to modify the airflow meters.
You may need to get a quick dyno read out for the mixtures as it may be to rich down low.

Couldn't find it
So have started to mod the computer, hopefully will be able to adjust the the injector rate so
that i can richen or lean off fuel by a small margin.
will post when i try it on the weekend :)
