Post subject:  idling rough... suspect faulty airflow?

hey guys my cordia has been running a bit funny lately.
it idles really low as if its got a vac leak somewhere but when i checked my vac lines with a stethoscope there was no hissing of any kind.

Now i found this by chance but as i was servicing my engine fluids yesterday i thought id change my air filter so i removed the airflow and switched over my new air filter and forgot to reconnect the airflow clip before i started it and what surprised me was that it was idling beautifully. but when i reconnected the airflow meter clip it ran funny again idling at the first line before zero on the rev meter :?:

So i was just wondering if anyone knows how to check an airflow meter to see if its faulty or if its even the airflow at all?

Any help would be great

Cheers Guys ;)

To manually test the afm to see if its faulty, with symptoms you describe, completely block 1 tube inside the afm. Then, once its all reconnected, start the engine. If its running like brand new, the afm is faulty.

If its blowing black smoke, you got a vacume leak on the intake manifold, or a leak between the afm and throttlebody.

Report your findings
