Ok........I need to probe a bit more........the coolant wire for the gauge is actually the boost gauge on the cordia dash............I only have 3 to choose from........let's hope its not the wrong one! |

Nice one James..........It's nearly a direct fit...........just need to cut the cordia surround and bog/fibreglass to fit. |

am rather jealous andrew are you documenting the processes or is it just be a matter of sitting down with a multi meter and trying to work it out? |

Terrence, There are a few differences between the cordia and magna dash.........but once I have "grafted" a loom, I will certainly make a new wiring diagram..........for both. |

The magna dash has the warning lights across the bottom of the cluster......need to cut the magna fascia to suit the cordia dash surround...........I'll see how it goes.........and looks. |

This is driving me "batshit"...........looking at diagrams plus trying to work with an original analogue dash to find the correct circuits, not to mention not trying to fry the digital one...........AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...........that's better, might leave it alone for a while. |

Or just some more thinking. The side lights work if you apply 6 volt to the circuits............but I'll be stuffed if I can get the left hand indicator to work as it's "paired" off from the LCD unit..............everything else works besides that! |

Just took another look.............things that work: 1. Temp gauge (even thought it's slow and takes 10 mins to reach boiling, but at least it has an overheat light) 2. Fuel gauge (Only works properly if you ground all three wires and reset, just needs the fuel sender variable resistor attached and should work fine, the low level light is automatic) 3. Tacho...........that works. 4. Boost gauge....that works too. 5. Instrument illumination..........that works. 6. Speedo.....that works when spun. (Need a reed switch for the overdrive) 7. Handbrake, both door lights, high beam and brake waning light working 8. Right hand indicator working 9. Left now working once I probed the circuit once a full 12 volt was applied. Not working yet............climate control.........has anybody got a 91 Magna Elite at the wreckers? |

Im going to try to go to the wreckers today if there is one , I will grag the gauge temp sender also what else are you looking for ? |

Post subject: | Re: TP magna digital dash |
If you can find one with the climate control dash, I need the sensors as part of the climate control (face, feet, demist, etc) plus the loom from the rear of the cluster.............if it's not too much trouble. I already use the original Magna temp gauge sender, can't see why it's so slow to read. PS............Thanks Travis! |
