ok so i got a oil leak near front of engine.. somewhere near the turbo.. i was thinkin it might be a line. any ideas or common problems i should look for.. thanks in advance

oil return can be a common one, 2 10mm bolts on the side of the sump and a paper gasket, can also the be bendy corrigated bit cracks and leaks, alot of people just cut that off and repl,ace it with a bit of oilm proof hose and a couple of hose clamps

Honestly what a useless thread. How long is a piece of string? Jack it up, stick your head under it. If you can't tell what it is, degrease the engine bay and give it a steam clean and check in a couple of days.

well i dont see it as a useless thread jon.. i have just got the cordia and its my first one. was simply askin if there are any common faults or problems.. no need to dog me.. figured threads are here to help people especially people like me that have never owned a cordia. there is always one in every forum. jimi thanks for your advice wil look into it tommorow. much appreciate the advice

While thats tru oz, this forum has been around the block a few times. no harm in using the search function for an hour or so having a look around, also checking the faq is a good idea. i read them when i first got my cordia.

Problem with oil leaks is with out cleaning them and rechecking on stands or a hoist, there is almost no way to say its this or that. u literally have to look at the engine and go hmm it could be this or this or that.could even be sump gasket or rear main leaking on the the sump rim and running round the front, oil does crazy stuff when it start to leak from seals.

well the problem you said it might be is it.. the turbo and bolts it is leakin from there. thanks for the help

its always not just the bolts , check the pipe itself where crinkle bit is the just before the 90' turn , it can crack there also , most of the guys ive seen just cut the crinkled bit out and replace it with a rubber oil hose and clamps , Ive done it myself and found it easier later when changing turbos etc

While i agree 99% still even calling a mechanic and saying my car is leaking oil.. u know what i mean... or my car wont start.... its annoying beyond belief

as for dyno tune? how much is it going to cost ya? if u don't have multi point or after market computer its not really worth it

ok thanks to all that helped the problem has been fixed.. it was the leak in you guys said it was.. all is good and it is goin great.. had a mate tune it up and it goes crazy now.. again thanks to those that helped.. much appreciated.. and i get dyno tune for 100 an hour but wont be doin it now as i have it all sorted.. might just put it on dyno to see what she does..
