Hey again guys ive got my 4g62t running again but it backfires if I rev it and its not drivable because it won't rev well.when I rev the car I hear the turbospooling and when I back off the waste gate makes alot of noise too. From my previous problem I have set the timing, set the idle control and checked the codes with a multimeter and if I'm right it's getting a code 4 which on here just says cordia/ tredia only?please help. I think I'm checking codes right the multimeter says flashes .2volts then flashes close to 12 volts 4 times, does that mean code 4 ? Any help would be appreciated

Code 4 is for the boost pressure sensor.

Hey what and where is the boost pressure sensor ? What would cause it? I have cut the yellow wire and it has a turn valve turbo smart type boost controller but these have been on it for years

It sounds retarded to me. I had a case where I had boost at idle and found it so far retarded. Advanced the timing and fixed the problem. Try checking the timing mark against TDC to see if it's right.

Yep.......your vacc advance unit sounds stuffed........remove the line to the distributor and suck on it.....if no vacc is felt (your tongue stuck to the tube) it's requires replacement.

If you have "cut" the yellow wire the ECU will throw a fault code as it can't "see" the current voltage.....you need to use a fuel cut defender to ensure the circuits integrity.
