Hi All

What does the ground wire on passenger side engine bay wall do?
My panel is rusted through and wandering if this may be something to do with my starting problem?

Cheers Mick

I have no idea what wire your talking about. There is probably more than one earth around there. But if it's attached to a bit of rusty metal it probably won't be doing it's job. Shorten or extend the wire, whatever you have to do, and find a nice bit of unrusted metal, sand the paint off the contact point and re-attach wire. You want an earth on a nice bit of shiny bare metal. If you still have starting problems will probably be something else.

It's a chassis ground wire, you can leave it off but retain the one that runs from the inlet manifold to the firewall.
