Hey everyone,

I have My GSR Lancer and its got a Bosch External fuel pump , but its so loud its annoying

is there any external pumps that you recommend that can be quiet , or a way you have made yours quiet

Im almost tempted to change it back to the intank , but im kinda of scared what the last owner has done to the intank setup though, he was a butcher/DIY guy

also I know these will help with the vibration

What model Lancer is it? Most early Lancers had an external pump.

Some bosch fuel pumps are quiet, they are genuine equipment on millions of cars, what are you using, a 044 or something?

Look into your brackets, rubber mounting etc.

Isolating the pump with rubber mounts is a good start,

Removing the one way valve on the 044 also quietens things down a little.

its a 94 lancer GSR , but its had a external fitted, yeah its a Bosch 044 , ( after checking Jag fit rubber mounts to stop this)

Ive even let it hang down with no brackets and the pump itself is the total noise , I refitted it with some silicon to to stop vibration which has worked ok

I have a external Walbro pump but cant find it , I remember it being pretty quiet too, if I cant find it I might just buy another soon to try out

I will check if its got the valve

the pump could be on its way out I guess if its that noisy

Found my Walbro , and its so much better almost no sound, the 044s are so noisy, I can use it as my pump to empty fuel tanks now when I wreck cars
