Done and done. These motors are chopped and changed between so many cars I'm not even gonna try to mark which is which. However while doing a table for these figures I might do a table with car type and what motor it came with... we'll see.

Nice table but could be a little misleading.
i.e. The 4g63 DOHC has lots of variations in power levels, such as the auto model, normal, rs, evo 0 etc etc etc

And the tc05 4g62 isn't 119kW, come to think of it, I don't think the tc06 is that much either? I always thought 90 and 110kw respectively, hmmm, time for some research.

ok here we go:
"The smoggy engine produced a creditable 110kW (147hp) at 6000rpm and 210Nm of torque at 4000revs. Cat converter equipped cars had figures that dwindled to 90kW at 5500rpm and 172Nm at 3 grand."

Now that is taken from the same website as that table is from. I don't think the autospeed crew are too good at their research?? Which makes me wonder If prehaps other figures in that table are wrong?

85-87 2.0L 4G63 SOHC 12V Factory Intercooled 170Kw (Both Sirius & Cyclone)

88-89 Sirius/Cyclone 2.0L 4G63 SOHC 12V = 170Ps.......these were downgraded from the almighty 200Ps output of the earlier models, don't know why the japs would do such a thing, probably because they were introducing the DOHC in the following years and people wouldn't upgrade if they would only gain an extra 10Kw :lol: or lose 10Kw to the DASH 2 :lol:

Getting back on track.................

If anyone has better figures, send em to me or post them here and I'll update the list. I'm not trying to create the most comprehensive list on the planet, I'm trying to create a guide for all those people asking 'how many kw does xxx motor have.'

Astaroth.

Lets at least get the 4G62 numbers right, 110kw for leaded and
90kw for unleaded engines and its 1.8 litre not 1.85.

Anyone else seeing the irony in a post titled "the final word" when it's anything but?
Just found it amusing myself...

Heh, irony on a base level.

I'm fixing these up as people comment, so the idea is for this thread to be the final word - once it's accurate.

Would be appreciated if we can keep this on track.

Astaroth.

your tripping... its 1795cc.
and the jap SOHC 8valve 2ltr. this is an interesting one. some came with jet valves. some without. varying power levels. the 2ltr in the starion was 125kws. some factory intercooled cordias.

DASH... well that will never been known. Ive never heard it go as high as 170kw. I was always pretty sure on the 149kw with TC06 no intercooler. SIRIUS version.
The later version had a TC05.. less power.. and intercooled.
But once again, many many different versions.

I have heard that the SOHC 4G63 8V Starion motor puts out 125kw and the Cordia Jap-spec 131kw even though they are basically the same motor just pointing a different direction, can anyone confirm?

agreed. they are the figures put out.
COULD the extra 6kw be the result of a different throttle body on the cordiaT than the enclosed starion style?? slight different inlet tracts, and x-over pipe designs...
me thinks the extra 6kw would be in those slight design varations

Found this page:

http://www.turbocreations.com/cordiaturbo/

One thing made me look twice...
Quote:
2.0L Cordia Turbo
(Japan Spec) 4G63BT 4cyl. 2 litre 8 valve SOHC ECI turbo non-intercooled TC05= 131kW at 5500 rpm
TC06= 149kW at 6000 rpm TC05= 216Nm @ 3500rpm
TC06= 255Nm @ 3500 rpm.

In particular...

Quote:
TC05= 131kW at 5500 rpm
TC06= 149kW at 6000 rpm
TC05= 216Nm @ 3500rpm
TC06= 255Nm @ 3500 rpm.

Is this accurate?
