I'm inquiring about the fuel line canister that sits in the engine bay and acts as a breather for the fuel tank. The feed line comes from the rear of the vehicle (canister next to the tank filler tube) running parallel with the high pressure and return lines for the injectors. Is this canister in the engine bay maintainable? Is there any reason to pull this out and take a look at it, clean it up etc?

I think it is a charcoal canister that absorbs the evaporated fumes of gasoline but not sure the service life of them. I have mine still in the car, just I let it vent to the atmosphere instead of letting it be pulled into the intake (my intake is not stock).

Hey Rob,

sorry missed your reply last year. I'm not motivated to touch the canister. Can't imagine I can find any replacements or see a need to swap it out. Just another one of those useless mid 80s polution control devices....

Cheers
