Interesting body decals on this NZ Cordia, quite fitting if you ask me, goes with the "space" theme.

Really strange piping setup for the intercooler on that one. I wonder if he let it go for $3700. I guess that's the market value for a vr4 with lots of $$$ spent. Body looked in good nick too.

he says
Once fully tuned, engine should be making 220-250 kw+ atw.
pretty good power whats does Bitza have atw?
is it worth the money?

Post subject:  Re: eBay / Carsales / Tradingpost Car Sightings

Bitza made 408 hp or 304 KW. :)

Worth the money for a DASH engine...............no, even though I supplied him with the inlet manifold.

What does this even mean? as fast as a 220-250kw dash engine?

The 4g62 is stuck in the 80's with early tech, this makes both difficult and expensive to make reliable power.

The dash engine is an improvement, 2.0l and 12 valve but still old school and hardly worth the effort these days.

A vr4 running all the emissions hardware and factory electronics has between 150 to 180kw to begin with. Parts are everywhere (wreckers ect.) and aftermarket support is second to none.

vr4 is from 80's to ROFL

Post subject:  Re: eBay / Carsales / Tradingpost Car Sightings

There is a huge difference between the 1983 4g62 and the very late 80's vr4. Look at the differences in cylinder head design, ignition and injection. There is no argument here, the vr4 is miles ahead... Better yet, compare the vr4 engine to the 4g62 and an evo 8 4g63. which is it closer to from a mechanical, electrical and emissions standpoint?

Galant Gsr's share most parts with the vr4 and can be found at the wreckers...

Other than this.....between RealStreetPerformance, ExtremePSI, STM and most local retailers, you can get just about anything.

At the end of the day, if you want your 62 to perform like a dash engine, I'm all for it. Just know the vr4 will be cheaper, more reliable and better on fuel.

i never disagree with you vr4 is better motor but still old school.
people say its upgrade i disagree with that.
if it didn't come from factory them it don't belong.
to me upgrade is changing parts or improving 62 motor.
like if it was possible to put vr4 head on 62 etc.

I'm interested, what are your goals?

Post subject:  Re: eBay / Carsales / Tradingpost Car Sightings

Well car is restored engine almost there upgrading injectors hopefully I'll keep car long enough for all money I have spent and enjoy driving it.
back to vr4 to me cordia with galant motor should be called CORDALANT.
is not a cordia any more .
i had CORDALANT about 9 years ago, it was not fun to drive any more.
i can tell you it became a money pit with aftermarket ecu ,tuners love to rip you off.
charged me 250 for less them 1 hour on the dyno tune ,yes car felt better but not worth it.
there excuse you need this and that ,so i buy everything they ask go back to them spend
another 250 and fells no different.oh but hang on it wasn't just 500 i spent on tune .
get what im saying with vr4 motor .
