Easy way to tell:

AA AB: injectors have black tops

AC: Grey tops.

havent actually looked at the injectors yet nor under the car but i think it does have a cat all i know is its 85 model and looks alot like most AB pis i've seen, but do you know where i can get some injectors from because i dont want to have to upgrade the whole inlet manifold and fuel rail and reg just to get it running with less smoke. thats all its doing, blowing a shit load of black smoke so i've put it down to the injectors.

Are you SURE the injectors are stuffed?

Does the ECU come back with ANY error codes?

You may just have a bad sensor and the injectors are working Flat out!!!!!!

well i asked a turbo mechanic if the turbo seals were gone he said no otherwise it would be blue smoke, so i told him its blackish grey he said it could be injectors , that one may not be pulsing but just running flat out, i havent done any ecu checks or anything though? i dont seems too much to fuk around with now, its really pissing me off, as i spent 2 whole days just searching for fkin injectors lol

The main problem is mechanics nowadays don't know much about these cars.....you need a plan of attack...don't just go on what HE says.

Firstly: Build yourself an ECU checker........takes the painstaking time of replacing components that are not need.

You can find error codes here:

http://cordiapower.com/forum/viewtopic. ... des#p11816

If the ECU comes back with NO errors, remove the airflow meter connection and remove the crossover pipe from the turbo to the inlet..........start the engine and observe if the fuel is spraying in a pattern.......not as a droplet or streaming.......this will tell you if your injectors need replacing.

If they do, you can buy a rebuild kit from here:

http://www.enginemachineservice.com/conquest.html

Just noticed they are currently out of stock. There are currently some on EBay:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Fuel-System- ... 4cfefcf287

I have 2 AB Black tops here from a working engine.........picked them up from Grant this morning.......PM me for details.

Cheers,
Andrew.
