(posted in OT so shh)

I'm a concreter by day and I'm looking at branching out on my own, so I need to get a few small jobs under my belt. If you've got a path, small slab, garden edging (formwork, not machine), etc that needs doing, I’ll be happy to give it a crack. Not looking to make huge amounts of money, just looking to get set up so trying to cover the cost of tools etc.

I'll service Canberra and surrounding areas and, if you'll spring for my fuel, I'll come to Sydney.

I have plenty of concrete work that needs to be offloaded but I usually stick with the same sub-contractor...and the work I have would be much too big for you...

*sigh* concrete only

Big jobs aren't a problem, but if I take time off my regular job to do them you'll be springing for my wage as well. Mainly looking for jobs I can do on my Sundays off so I can do them cheap.

And SA's just a tad far..

If I had to be stuck at a desk for another day I was going to cap someone. I quit the public service last year and started labouring for a roadwork contractor, then not long after that got picked up by a concreter. MUCH prefer the work and the money's about the same..

You could have used an oil tray to prevent it from even happening!

Hydrochloric acid (diluted), a stiff bristled scrubbing brush and yourself (on your hands and knees) scrubbing is one of the best ways that you can remove most oil stains...

Try 10/1 (water/hydrochloric acid) first, if it doesn't budge, increase the ratio (more acid). Bear in mind that it's very toxic and it burns the skin, so definately use chemical gloves... ;)

Sorry nizzy I only put the stuff in.. It shouldn't be too hard if it's a smooth finish, just be careful whatever you use doesn't eat away at the concrete.. Last time I had to clean a bit of oil off a hotmix driveway I used CT-18 and a stiff brush, didn't do a great job but then again neither did I, I didn't scrub for long heh

Hydrochloric acid is used to remove concrete and cement from the insides of the trucks and other gear at the plant, I don't know if I'd use it.. never tried though so I don't really know, it's just a thought

Anyone else from Adelaide interested? There is talk of a luge event down there early next year so if I could line a little work up for the week before or after it could be a cool trip away.
