James (PSI GSR) gave me his old dash surround last week to adapt the magna digital dash.

Looking at the badly cracked and broken surround I thought:

"I'll repair that"!

Anyway I removed the surrounding cracked vinyl, removed a small amount of foam, then used "bog" to fill the line.

When all was dry I sanded the whole thing flat, then started covering, it's not finished yet but i'm pretty happy with the outcome so far.

Here's some pics:

Awesome! How did you get the new vinyl to wrap the dash with one piece?

When you add the heat resistant glue you can stretch the vinyl to suit...........hard part was holding it in place to let it dry!

I had some left over from my interior build, it can be purchased from any auto upholsterer, as for the glue it's Selleys Kwip grip (in a 500ml can) but make sure you use the heat and water resistant type.

I will definitely give it a shot once I have got the car complete and running with the 60-1, lsd, W2A intercooler and 330mm corvette brakes.
I have been meaning to do a retrim of the interior in black for ages but so many other modifications (which were of more interest to me) are being addressed first.

I can't see the doorcards being too big a task but I am a little worried about attempting the seats.

What’s that device to the left of your electric mirror switch, Is it a turbo timer or some sort of knock monitor?

looks great , I'm about to attempt this myself, I was thinking Carbon wrap for the complete dash, or find a non shinny material, have you got any suggestions?

You will need a material that can stretch if your going to so it in one piece, other harder materials like suede will require stitching.

I used black velour (the same stuff they use on re-trimming your headlining) to do my dash. Works really well, helps to stop the glare the old vinyl used to create. The stuff is also easy to stretch over round pieces like the gauge surround. I would also recommend using the quick grip stuff, works like a charm and will not come undone.
