Has anybody had a look at doing this for the cordia?

Pics borrowed from Austarion:

I'm looking at making new door trims (to remove the power window switch to the console) and use the sigma/scorpion/starion handbrake set up, to allow more room.

Just a thought.

I've already modded the cordia console to include the bin lid, just want to make a new one out of MDF.

I ended up using the rear half of a starion console grafted onto the cordia.

very nice was it hard to fit only thing the cordia does not really have all that much room in between the seats.

There was plenty of room between the seats..........just the handbrake in the middle was the problem.

I just want it gone............here's a pic of my current console.

Yeah, I was going to cover the middle of the console in the same blue vinyl with the grey sides..........should look OK.

Now that the brake booster is sorted it's time for the console..............I basically want it from this:

Image

To this:

Image

I have had a look at different handbrake setups and have settled on a Sigma lever rather than a TR-TS magna version due to the angle. (Both are in the off position)

Image

The holes in the floorpan are offset aswell........so I'm looking at welding the whole unit to 2mm plate steel then bolting to the original holes.

is it going to be hard to pull up due to it will be close to the seat/buckle?

Have been investigating the placement of the handbrake........there is a oval bulge in the floor pan just forward of the original position, this is where it needs to sit in order to ensure correct operation.

I will need to make 4 new holes for mounting..........should be no drama.

The sigma handbrake has the oval "use" in it's base, but I will need t enlarge it a little to make the lever sit "flat" on the floor.

I still have plenty of room between the seats due to how far forward the whole assembly is mounted.

Here are some pics:

I also need to purchase a 1 inch external thread extension to ensure the handbrake cable reaches (As it's miles off)..........cheaper than getting a whole new one made.

Im still worried about it, have u sat in the seat with it in? does it hit your leg or anything, looks easy to pull up tho for some great hand break turns :D

The picture shows the handbrake in the "on" position........once off you really can't even see it, believe me, it won't hit any of my body parts.

I have mounted the handbrake to the floor temporarily and it works well...........just need to bolt the assembly in properly............I have now started on the production of the console..........it's early days but here is how it's looking.
