parra wirra sounds pretty good, but in all honesty i reckon we've picked the worst weekend to cruise up there given the rally and all. i had a look at the road map and to go from hahndorf to parra wirra we'll be going too close to where spectator traffic will be, and we wont get a good run.

dont want to take the wind out of your sails, this idea would be sweet at any other weekend. would be good to take advantage of some other hills roads. i have a few alternate ideas leaving from hahndorf if you'd like to hear 'em - i'm not completely critical ya know.

okay just a quick summary:

head to hahndorf from hackney road (as arranged, like last cruise)

drive straight thru hahndorf & head towards mt barker

drive thru mt barker & turn onto wellington rd & onto wistow strathalbyn rd

stop at strath for lunch etc

head towards macclesfield & stirling/aldgate on aldgate/stathalbyn rds etc

jump back on the freeway somewhere near crafers/aldgate area and head back down the freeway.

prehaps someone else can add to this, with an urban route of some kind.

My house! :P

But seriously it would be good if it were somewhere central and where we could get a bite to eat :) Ideas?

we HAVE to quickly go for a run through 'eagle on th hill'...i love that place, i know those roads like the back of my hand

and it only takes bout 5 minutes then takes you right back on the freeway...
we have to drop by eagles on the way home...its a must.

just a tip,

for those who havnt been through eagles in a while...the government have put in gutters and a median strip down by devils elbow and some of the twisties just to stop drifters, but this shouldnt be a problem with out front wheel drives and all....also watch for cops.

when down eagles, stay in a single file and no overtaking (alot of it is double laned) just cause its more fun using both lanes...

no worries then semireal, are you doing any maps for this or are we riding on a wing & a prayer? lol its okay if not, in this case we'll work out who leads at what stage when we meet at hackney rd. we'll have to head to parra wirra next cruise whenever that happens (maybe a spring cruise to match the autumn & winter ones).

and yeah be careful with eagle on the hill guys, police are really clamping down on that area (more so friday nights than any other time).

nah mate we'll just wing it, we can discuss any finer points on the day at the botanical gdns before we leave. probably would work out the best to have a lead car, though we can take turns doing the lead duties at different stages of the cruise route etc etc.
