fair enough. good luck with your test.
i remember going for mine, i was so nervous i got my left and right mixed up when he asked me to test the indicators....

a tip for driving without a license - don't put p-plates up. You're more likely to be pulled over with p-plates and it won't affect the penalty you get if you get caught.

I've got a very exciting old HiPo map I can photocopy :D Probably more suited to night time though cos you really need to use thw WHOLE road to totally enjoy the roads. On the other hand I have another map that goes up to Emerald lake way, quite some noice scenery on the way, good for a day cruise.

i actually have maps of the whole area on the computer/GPS in my other car from a previous cruise. It's damn useful, but i can't be bothered moving the whole setup into the cordia (actualy don't think the cordy's poor little batt / alternator will cope with a 700w inverter)

problem with the black spur, is it's up and down mountains, so u don't have much vision on corners, and trucks use the road also - even at night time. the plus is, never any cops.

Im not a fan of night-time cruises.. (call me soft) but those sort of roads can be pretty dangerous at night on windy roads, going fast.
--------

So, windy roads in country without heaps of trees/mountains blocking vision...

for ballarat members, perhaps somewhere out west. Maybe grampians or something. It's a 3hr drive from the city though

mscordia, edit your top post and start a list of general locations or routes.

as far as things to do, can't beat a day-trip with a BBQ lunch, if we're going out eildon way, plenty of bush, picnic areas.

I put in my 2 cents worth (more like $2 worth 'cos it took ages to type!) about a month ago in another thread about the lack of a Melbourne cruise.

You'll find it at:
http://www.cordiapower.com/forum/viewto ... 7923#17923

Trouble with these things is that everone says they're keen but then only 1/4 of that number turn up on the day, for whatever reasons, and they take a bit of organising. Probably why not many come up!

I'll be in - it'll help put some faces to names. Just make it somewhere that I can test out my new Galant brakes.......

Grampians is a bit far I think, it could be done in Summer, more people will be enthusiastic to go out during the day and have a BBQ.

yeah, gramps is too far.

Great ocean road! as per suggestion in the linked post. Coz it's winter, might not be the best coz it'll be windy as hell.

Hills Cruise
Everyone meets up somewhere like the Camberwell car park. We head up to Belgrave, then to Monbulk over to Seville then up the highway to Warburton. Next is up Woods Point Rd all the way to Marysville - another 10km to Buxton and there's a really cool cafe (or there was!) that we could invade for lunch. Its then a gentle cruise back down Maroondah Hwy to Healesville and home from there.

There are some great, quiet, winding roads in all that which I have driven a few times. The only hassle we'd have is if it was done in the middle of winter as Woods Point Road can get a bit slippery if there's been snow......

Well if we are heading up Belgrave way I can whip up a good map easy, I know the roads like the back of my hand as my ex lives up there and we always went for 'drives'.

great idea, i know the area, there are some nice roads. had to drive a few of the lesser used roads (some sealed, some dirt) once for hours at night, pouring rain and some were dirt roads, very windy. Much more fun driving the day! Also, most of those roads are unsuitable for police to use speed cameras on, so that's a bonus! Hopefully we can pick a day when it won't rain.

Im definantly in for this one, provided it isn't w/e of 12th/13th july or 19th 20th (as i'll be overseas)
