Hi Guys,

Im going to be trying to figure out what is wrong with my car on sunday, if anyone would like to come help, socialise and have a few drinks and a bit of a cordia meet PM me for my address details.

If only you lived in sydney,i would personally go and check your cordia out,cos i know what it feels like to have such a problem.Its just impossible to rectify faults over the net.I know the cordia like a dictionary.

spewing - wish i lived in sydney!!

I think its temp related now coz the car will run for like 2/3 mins and then will start idling rough and die and then it will crank over but not idle. if i leave it for a while and then start it same thing happens so i think its temp related. its 1.25pm and im still waiting for my dad to come down here with a multimeter and a vac gauge :x :(

i think its the isc but can only wait and see.

roger knows nuffin ignore him

im guessing u have reset the TPS and all that?
heres some other ideas
buggered oxygen sensor?
pressure exchange solenoid is stuck.
idle is set to low
open or shorted coolant temp sensor ..the double pronged ECU one
loose injecotor connection
stuck EGR solenoid valve

I didnt even get to see his post..

I think it was the Injector clip - its broken and seemed to be a little out when i was checking all plugs and stuff and now it seems to run fine and i had it running for about 15-20 mins until the fan came on, and so i unplugged it and tried to start it and it had the same symptoms but i think it was sorta half in/half out so thats why sometimes it would start - but im still gonna go through and check everything else (wont hurt) take it for a major service and get a dyno tune.

How abouts with Roger if he is talking himself up and all his usual crap just ignore him and dont reply coz that just keeps him going and makes him think hes pissing us off and thats what he wants but if he has something helpful or useful to say dont bag him coz thats not what this forum is about :)

IMHO there is not a huge point doing a dyno tune on a cordia cos thay arnt really that tuneable without an aftermarket ECM.

it might just be cheaper to get a decent mechanic / someone that knows somethign about cars to do the usuual tuneup stuff i.e timing etc. so the garage doesnt charge you an arm and a leg for a dyno tune on a car that cant really be tuned. unless you are getting it cheap i wouldnt reccomend it but thats just me. anyone else got another point of view on this?
