Hey boys and girls

There is an opportunity for thos that would like to race their car down the 1/4mile and see what time they car get without having hundereds of bogans yelling abusive comments at them.

If we can gather 30 cars that are willing to race we can book out the whole of heathcote raceway on a saturday, so ther wont be any V8's or motor bikes to deal with.

Mid may is the proposed time

Becuase we will not get 30 mitsu's willing to race, we are also arranging for some honda's, swift gti boys and wrx's to come down aswell and also dont forget some nissans...

So from memory its $40 to race youll need long sleeve top, helmet and a helmet for a passenger if they want to sit in the car while you go down the strip (which is allowed at heathcote).. $10 per spectator..

This is a perfect opportunity for those that are a little shy about draging their car and would like to have a go...

I'll have my car ready to run so it should be fun!!
Great for the 1/4 mile noobs!!

I'm sure alot this is where alot of ppl had their 1st time experience =)

PM or post up if you'll attend!

racing starts a 11am and runs till 4pm
or we can book out the 6pm to 10pm i believe...

should be a good show!
i would love to see some cordia's racing!

Ok. So here's the deal.

I went to install evo 510cc and bosch fuel pump and have it dyno tuned for them. Had a couple of mini backfires throughout the rev range so I got them to check it, maybe it could be leads and/or plugs. Got it on the dyno last night and its actually the computers fault.

One of its map sensors is stuffed so it runs real leans for a bit then jumps up and is fine again. So we have to send the EMS to the supplier to get it fixed. The problem is its in Sydney.

So we're sending it via express post this morning, they'll get it tommorow, fix it and express post it back down friday, then we dyno tune it friday night and go racing sat.

So im ok aslong as these bloody express post means express post. Im in the hands of other people at the moment so I hope majorly that it all turns out alright in the end.

Fingers crossed,
Nick

Hey all. Everything turned out all right in the end. I got the car all together. Dyno tuned to 18psi with 197kw at the front wheel. (dyno pic coming soon). Managed to have a few runs. I didnt get time to get used to the power so i blacktracked all 1st and 2nd gear.

14.04@122.3 2.44sec 60ft
14.24@127.2 2.49sec 60ft

The MPH suggests I should be in the 12's lol
I was just blacktracking 1st and 2nd and then 3rd gear.... wooooooooooo!

Time for LSD I think. Also i need stiffer springs in the rear, the car squats too much and there's no weight over the front wheels.

Its just stupid fast at the moment. Passing cars on the freeway up to heathcote was the greatest thing. 5th gear at 110, squeeze the throttle and wham 140.

Maybe if i de-tune it ill run a quicker time. But im never going to do that hehe.

P.S all the evo's and wrx's were running low 13's with some in the 12's and all of them around to 110 mph mark. So all i need is traction. :D

Cheers,
Nick

Very good effort Malovan

Im sure you'll get those 12's eventually.
What tyres and pressure were you using?
You got VR4, dash, 4g63 or 4g62??
Wouldnt mind seeing what setup you have all round.

Livewire: Its vr4 powered. Big16G, supra cooler, exhaust, stinger 4424 EMS, evo (yellow top) 510cc injectors, bosch fuel pump. Dyno tuned to 18psi.

Tyres are just some hankook silica ones 205/40/R17. There's not much tread left on them. I had fronts at 35psi(maybe too high) and rears at 40psi to help against weight transferance.

Its just king springs all around so thats the next thing to be changed. Maybe some variable rate springs on the rear or something.

LSD is a definite, but need more money hehe.

Danny: my mate took a video of the 14.04@122.3mph so if i can get that on here i will.

Cheers,
Nick
