More updates! Car is coming along nicely now, slowly putting everything back together, its quite a time consuming event. Clean, fix, respray then refit. Taking all the crap out is far easier than throwing it all back in. I take my hat off to anyone that has done this to their car before, like anything its only when you give it a go yourself you realize just how tough it is.

I've had a quick look at the radiator and realized that the fins have started to corrode and fall off. I'm currently contemplating either putting a second hand cordia unit in or getting an aluminium one made to fit an evo 3 and custom fitting that. Any one care to shed some thoughts on this?

The Air-con condenser you mean? Still yet to fit the radiator. Everything you see is just the old parts, tirelessly cleaned, primed and resprayed in high temp paint.

I had the car re-sprayed white a few years ago and a few people asked why are you getting it done white again when there are so many other colors you can get! I love it and couldn't be happier, your comments are appreciated.

I have a good spare CC Lancer Radiator that almost drops straight in and is heaps slimmer to modernise the engine bay a bit. You can have it for free mang.

Yea i was looking at those, they look to be around the same size, a fair bit thicker though, just need new mounts made up. I did see the smaller one you purchased, looks to be good quality.

that one I got was around $150 delivered so its pretty cheap, you just need a good fan , I do like the smaller size , and a few honda guys have been running them with turbo setups with no issues so I thought it would be a good start , if its not doing its job later ,Im going for the ASI setup

Another quick update guys. Spent a little more time in the engine bay, all the wiring harness & main fuse box is now in. They've all been cleaned up and re-taped. I've tried to position the main loom on the firewall a little lower so that its hopefully impossible to see once the motor is in. If not i might possibly be looking at adding a sheet metal piece to the top of the firewall to hide it all.

I've also fit the HID lights and their ballast's as well as the power steering lines and reservoir. You may think its a little over the top but I've gone and used stainless steel nuts and bolts wherever i can. The ones you wont be able to see I've just used new tensile bolts.

Gone and picked up a new bonnet from the wreckers too, temp fitted with the evo 8/9 bonnet vent on there. Should hopefully look good once painted and fitted. I'm also planning on making up an intake box to fit in the corner where the old battery used to go as im planning to move the battery to the boot. Not sure yet but if i can get one i'll probably fit an evo 3 vent on the bonnet to get some cold air in there.

I'm hoping by the weekend to have the rest of the front pieces complete and fitted. Ill post some more pics then and of the parts I've managed to clean up for the engine.
Pics enjoy :)

Thanks mate, would have liked to have a nice clean & transparent bottle, however after 25 years it had turned a nice shade of yellow. And yep thats still the same rubber liner, just been cleaned up thats all, was already in pretty good nick.

Thanks mate, almost looking like your twin :) The one in the pic is from the evo 8/9, got the shroud that sits below it too. I'd like to fit the evo 3 vent that sits off center above the air intake too, not the two that sit in the middle of the bonnet like yours.

I didn't think that 56k still existed :)

Going back a couple of years this happened. Stupid idiot in front of me decided to stop and i went straight into the back of him. Luckily for me his car was fine, a bmw mind you.

I reckon I've got a photo from when he owned the car too, looked stock still, when i bought the car it only had the wheels and suspension done.

Ill probably be going back to the evo 3 front bar but I've got the original one on there at the moment as when the car starts getting towed around from place to place i'd rather not have the fiberglass one damaged at all.
