Bit of an update. Motor should hopefully be going into the car next weekend, I'm still waiting on my exhaust manifold, oil cooler and powder-coated cam cover to arrive, as well as a few small bits and pieces. Jon has been busy getting a lot of things organised for me and i cant thank him enough. For anyone in SA that needs work done on anything Mitsubishi, i would highly recommend seeing Jon, his help has been fantastic!

I did however receive my brand spanking new turbo today. The build quality on this thing is amazing! For anyone interested, yes it is an 'E-bay' turbo, but don't worry i can assure you it's not a cheap Chinese copy. I purchased it through kando_dynamic, whom i'd heard had a very good reputation, and i can defiantly say anyone who is looking to buy, you cant go past them for quality at a respectable price. More importantly its a TD05H with a 20G inside! :D

I promise to get you guys some more pics but you might have to wait till the motor is in, for now here's some of the new turbo, enjoy!

Sick, can't wait to bolt that bad boy up. What wastegate pressure does it run? Did you decide on a dump pipe?

Yea mate got it purely for the 3" intake (And it looks effin amazing too!). At this stage ill be happy with anything over 200kw, but i'd like something near the 230kw mark, unfortunately the car is without an lsd for the time being so traction will be a major issue.

Wastegate pressure is 1bar, havent decided on a dump as yet either mate. I've ordered a forced performance exhaust mani too, but won't receive it till next week.

Yea I looked into the evo3 mani from gtpumps and it worked out that for an FP item it was only going to be around $50 more. While i was at it i also ordered some stainless manifold to head bolts so it should look pretty mint. I'll give you a buzz sometime this week when I've got everything here, should hopefully be able to come round next weekend mate.

How come you chose that style manifold over the more typically chosen stainless manifolds?

Partly for that exact reason, they're too typical & this one was a reasonable price. I wanted something reliable yet still looked ''stock''. The stainless ones i was looking at were all around the $1000 + mark, i may look into one further down the track.

Plus these are cast, resist damage from temp change much better than the stainless mani's, especially when half the stainless mani market is coming from the same shit Chinese factory.

Rocker cover back from the powder-coaters, I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out with all the embossed lettering sanded back. It's been done in a metallic gunmetal grey...should look pretty awesome against all the black :D

Pic's were taken from an iPhone so there a little bit grainy, ill take some better ones when the motor is all together.

Ok boys were getting a bit closer now :D Went down to Jon's workshop again today to have a look at the progress. Motor has been assembled and is ready to install, just needs a couple of adjustments before going in. Really loving how things are looking, I decided to go with a simple clean look for the engine bay without too much color about the place. Should hopefully be in by the weeks end.... :D

I'm luving this build. Patience is a virtue.
I'm hoping that you're budgetting for an LSD, coz you're gonna need it. Plus it'll handle way better...
You might need to rotate the front compressor cover on the turbo...

Yeah, have to clock the turbo, but thankfully the Kando 20g comes with pre-slotted wg actuators, then we need to trim the front engine mount bracket. Sit the engine in and then dummy up fuel lines, rad lines, and make rough routes for cooler piping. Getting to the tail end of the build now and it is looking awesome!
