hey guys
been a while since i actually went through with a solid build, i'll try to keep it short..but thought id upload a couple of pictures and the current situation of the cordia. ive probably had it close to a month now, my intentions are to have a solid, reliably cordia as a daily driver to and from work. seeing as i was painting it i didnt go through the effort of taking care of every single little ding or damage..i wasnt after a show stopper - just a neat daily
so its still got some battle wounds
stripped the inside, rust treated, sound deaden and repainted floor pan..new drain plugs, new underlay and new carpet - complete AC GSR interior thrown in.
outside was pretty ordinary - managed to paint it today so thats the major hurdle in and out of the way..
i'll get to the pics in order of what i started to work on
buffed it out when i first got it hoping the oxsidized red paint would neaten up, turns out it wasn't even the original colour to start with, it had been repainted at some time and had been buffed out way too many times it was sitting thin on primer. so i ended up stripping it..
boot painted, through in an O.G spare tyre with original tyre from factory - still need the centre piece to hold the wheel in, and a jack
drivers side was damaged due to the previous owners apparently driving into a rock..drilled out lower and outer skin.. comparing bent panels with straight panels
cut out passenger lower quarter, it was buggered with rust..cut and shutted the section from my donar cordia
the joys of finishing work early on a friday..loaded up into my home made booth this arvo baha
boo yah! freshly painted..anyone knows anything about painting will know straight away it didnt end up a perfect job being a homey - still has a bit of dust through it, unfortunately copped a bit of fish eye effected spots.. might of accidentally infected my batch of paint. though, the finish off my gun is still shhaweet
well..thats the latest so far on it..still have to do the remainder of the hang on panels - then finish off the welding on the chassis skin..then all my focus will be on towards the mechanicals, and re doing the suspension
cheers
