Had the resonator fitted this morning. However still some drone at 100 km+ so may look at changing the rear muffler again. Low speed driving noise & note has clearly improved & taking off quickly no longer leaves you with a headache when trying to build power to move.

Got it home & removed the lower apron & lip right away & got the new replacement prepped for paint before the rain hit. Which now has postponed the final coats until tomorrow.

Lower apron getting some new paint.. a bit of straightening is needed to have the middle section perfect but seeing as I'm on the lookout for a GSR apron with the proper mounting holes for the lip, I'm not phased.

Gaskets & seals waiting to go on:
- x2 fuel pump gaskets
- Crank seal
- Rocker cover gasket

Ordered new wheel bearing tonight also so I can get the Magna brake upgrade on & fitted ASAP :D

Nice one Mike.........the lip looks great........as for the apron it's easily fixed.....as they are "flimsy" it doesn't take much to straighten.......the one I got from Grant was virtually "twisted" into a knot!

You should be able to align your lip and drill the 10mm holes for it to fit. :)

Just be careful with pinstripe......the stuff I got you could see through.....had to put a white base down first....GRRR....for some reason I can't find the "Quality" stuff.

Gaskets...........always a bonus.......I'm a little rusty with the GSL but I'm pretty sure you will need to remove the timing case to replace the seal.

Cheers Andrew! Very happy with the lip, this one has lived a good life & hasn't taken much of a beating so all it needed was a quick sand and on with the paints. I've got the holes drilled out already on the apron from the other lip, it held on no problems but I still wasn't 100% happy. Missed out on quite a few good GSR aprons too at the wreckers which I should have grabbed over the last year, d'oh!

It's unreal just how flimsy the aprons are, but as you said, doesn't take much then. Do you have any particular way of your own to get them back in shape? Bare hands & a couple of pliers? Haha.

Funny you mention that about the pinstripe the one I just removed off also had a white base down as well. So the search for a good quality pinstripe will remain, of all things.. :lol:

Yup time to tame these leaks & a major degrease. I'm unsure myself as I haven't spent a great deal around this engine but if you're pretty sure I wouldn't doubt it. Will update back with that one.

Easy way to fix the apron is with small blocks of wood (the same size as the flat and edges) and lightly "tap" over either a large vice or anvil.........will look a treat in no time!

Cheers Andrew I'll use that technique next time the apron comes off!

In the last few days:

- New wheel bearing fitted to Magna brake kit
- Front end fitted & painted: bumper, headlight surrounds, apron & lower lip
- Tail light indicators redded out (no photo just yet)

Next on the list:

- Shorten front struts around 50 mm to minimise front wheel gap
- Push out 2 minor dents on passenger rear quarter (may see in photo)
- New windscreen
- Respray wheels a lighter colour
- WASH CAR

Doesn't look like much at the moment but the old girl is on her way again!

^Actually @TheChosen1, if you shorten the struts but not the springs. You retain full 'stroke' of your suspension.
If you look at any 'adjustable' strut, you will notice you adjust the length of shock/strut itself, not the spring.

Although shorter springs is another way of doing it, it shouldn't be done past a certain extent. Unless its your intention to remove that movement for some reason.

If @0-PSI has 'actually' shortened the strut (Which i would like him to share where he got them ;P) he has done it the right way.
Although 50mm shorted replacement spring shouldn't be too bad if that's how he did it too, he will still have a decent amount of stroke.

I always filled the engine bay with sand bags, but it sounds like roger has found a better way of doing it!
