Lets post a few updates

next thing for deal with was suspension and handling

Suspension was original, but all springs are worn out and old, rear shocks were leaking, and also the car was too soft to handle that kind of power so i upgrade it to much better level

Ive bought Cusco street ZERO coilovers for Lancer EVO III

car handles much much better in corners, over the holes its almost like stock suspension, over the speed bumps you have to be little gentle , overall very good coilover

Image

Also got the powerflex camber bolts as the car sits little lower now

Image

Got new oem bumper indicator lens

Image

Then the next problem was grip, i had only 2 and a half years old tyres but they didnt have grip at all

So i bought new tyres Continental Contisportcontact 5 215/45/17, also as I will upgrade the brakes i need new wheels that are the same dimensions (17" , 7J , ET40) but with flatter spokes
that means more space for bigger brake calipers, luckily i found Superleggeras which are 4kg lighter than previous wheels EACH! and also they have 1,5cm more space for brake calipers

Image

Cleaned up the wheels, waxed them, got new central rings 67,1mm and new lug nuts

Image

And ready to fit on a car

Image

Results are awesome, lighter steering wheel (as each wheel is lighter for 4kg), and much more grip, which allows me to run full boost in second gear afer 5000rpm

Image

Also getting the parts for next work

new tie rods, new tie rod ends, new boots, new front bearings, new CV joints

it feels factory over the holes, but on a bumpy road not so much

after all this isnt daily car and for that power it needs to have proper suspension :)

I run a Goodridge braided clutch line in my evo , it felt alot more direct and no more splitting , you should do your brake lines too , massive difference

Yeah i will be upgrading the rears also(as you can see on the pictures fronts allready have it)
I will pur a complete rear axle from Sapporo (Galant Hardtop) because of the rear vented discs, and handbrake isnt on a caliper, but will posto about that in a next few months when i make that update

Did the Brembo's clear the wheel or do you need spacers?

Post subject:  Re: Mitsubishi Galant 1987, 4G63BT, RALLIART

I have sanded them for 2mm, as they have one lip that has no use and now it fits perfectly without spacers

Post subject:  Re: Mitsubishi Galant 1987, 4G63BT, RALLIART

Interesting...........my 3000GT ones needed 10mm spacers..........did you get them off of an EVO?

Author:  Tomica93 [ 11 May 2016, 19:30 ]
Post subject:  Re: Mitsubishi Galant 1987, 4G63BT, RALLIART

Nope, evo ones are much larger, but still almost the same "height" from the disc to the wheel
This ones are from seat ibiza cupra tdi, which also means cheap pads :), currently there are new ferodo ds2500

All calipers that have pistons on the other side are tall and you need a lot of space between the disc and the wheel

You can see that before i had OEM Mitsubbishi wheels (both were 7j and et40), but with superleggera i have 15mm more space for calipers as the design of the spokes is different

Thats why i have been searching for exactly this wheel which is also very light (6.9kg 17")
As iam limited with wide and offset due to rear arches

Post subject:  Re: Mitsubishi Galant 1987, 4G63BT, RALLIART

Again, interesting............don't see SEAT cars here........are the 320mm rotors 24mm thick?
