Thought I might follow in a few others footsteps and reintroduce myself on these forums.

My name is Bryan, I'm 26 and I have a soft spot for Cordias.

Like my Cordia which has spent the last 3 years in the garage, I haven't been the most active on this forum over the 4.5 years that I've been
on the forum but hopefully that's all about to change.

I currently own a low km Silver 1986 Cordia GSR, that is undergoing an engine conversion to a 4G93T. I know it's not a very common conversion, but
I'm not chasing big performance and a couple of years ago I bought an AA off Pete (Phaser) that already had the conversion done. My brother and I
stripped the AA recently and will be off to the wreckers, giving my brother some much needed space back in his driveway.

I'm also about to undertake an automotive pre-apprenticeship course through NSW TAFE as I'm looking to start an apprenticeship next year, and leave my
career in retail behind me.

Anyways here are a couple of old pics that I don't think I've posted on here before.

I'm going to give away the secret to a shiny rubber spoiler, and it's not Armorall.

Not just great for tyres.

So I made a trip to one of the local wreckers today, and managed to get a hold of some GSL armrests.

I apologise in advance for the picture quality, but these just weren't worth getting either of my cameras out for.

Image

The plastics are in very rough shape but I'm happy to have the switches.

I know that I'm going to have to repair the plastics either way, but would it be worth it to make a mould of these
and fibreglass up some new ones rather than repairing and using these?

I'm still looking for another set (see Parts & Accessories classifieds) so if anyone comes across some please let me know.

They look OK to me..........I would repair the ones you have...........some bog, plastic prime, textured stone guard and colour will bring them up a treat!

Have a look at my Project GSR thread.......I repaired all of the plastics in this way. :)

Thanks Andrew.

I figured you'd be the one to know what to do, and was actually having a look through your build thread just before.

Good luck with your apprenticeship, hope it works out for you. I wanted to do a similar thing a few years ago and when i made enquiries i found my age (27) was more of a barrier than what i had been led to believe.

Thanks guys.

Sorry to hear you both didn't manage to pursue an apprenticeship, although I hope you're happy with what you're doing.

The pre-apprenticeship course was suggested to me by one of the local job agencies as it should make it easier for me to
actually secure an apprenticeship in the new year.

I guess it's a bit different in each state, but I know the government gives the business more of a financial incentive depending on
the apprentices age.

Hey thanks, it would be minus Rims though as Pete (Phaser) already has dibs on those if I ever sell up.
Although I don't think i'll ever be able to part with it once the conversion and the retrim is done.

Thanks to GSR18 and a small loan of funds from one of my brothers, I'll soon have the complete fibremaster kit for the Cordia.

Now I just need to concentrate on checking off parts for the conversion. I wan't this thing back on the road for February next year.
Would be my best birthday present ever.

Then I can start saving for my retrim.

So the bodykit arrived safely. And I'm now blessed with an abundance of bubble wrap to feed my popping addiction, and package any more parts I sell.

Decided to push it out of the shed and do a quick test fit to see how it looks with the rest of the car. Results below:

As I already had the rear apron, I now have a spare.

Hopefully I can get it touched up, painted and fitted when the engine conversion gets underway.

The car looks awesome bud, love silver too... I have the same side and rear kit but im going the evo 3 front bar. Only thing i think the car will need bigger rims to suit the added arches... Love the simmons too dude but 18 or 19's to fill up those guards... haha everyone thinks too big and cant be done but it can be done and 19's are my option after selling my 18's...

18s or 19s can be done as long as the suspension isn't lowered.

Cheers 2dmentd. I agree that bodykits make the rims appear smaller, and I have the same problem with the 17"s on my lancer. Definitely sticking with the current wheel/suspension setup though. Keen to see your 19's though when you get them.

You can buy now 4-5 stud hub adapters from a wheel shop they use one common stud a racing one so its long to go through both hubs then another four new studs on the new adapter and then you have a 5 stud cordia then all you need to to do is stuff around with the new offset. Or some shops can ship the wheels from overseas with a blank face, then they can cnc machine the stud pattern you want and also can cnc machine the inside centre to suit your offset. Im waiting on my blank 19's to come from overseas. That saves me the extra $350 that i have to spend on the hub adapters.
