As you are probably aware I won't throw out any cordia part as it can be repaired somehow.................I will write a repair guide on leaking fuel injectors shortly..................here are how my 2 pair of AC ones turned out, no more leaks from the plastic joint and they hold fuel pressure easily and spray evenly.

Look forward to reading your solution Andrew, it looks like a good one. My secondary injector on the starion has a nasty crack in need of repair, at least until I purchase the new set this will get me out of trouble.

Ok here we go, just like to thank Fernando for the injectors as part of this thread, got injector that look like this:

Firstly, here is what you will need, a battery, injector clip, masking tape, a full can of degreaser, paint colour and clearcoat and some JB weld.

Image

Place the injector on the top of the spray can (remove the spray nozzle) and depress, this will show where the injector is leaking from, at this stage you can also check if the injector is spraying properly via the clip and the battery.

Image

Once you have identified where the injector is leaking from "V" the crack with either a file, sand paper or art knife back down the the cracks base. (Do this for all cracks), mask up the injector to stop contamination and make sure the base of the injector under the collar is rubbed back to remove grease, oil etc...........I used some 600 grit to clean.

After filing the injector should look like this, don't forget to sand the rest of the collar, I used some 80 grit:

Image

Apply some flexi prime and allow to dry to ensure the JB weld adheres to the plastic shroud.

Once the flexi prime is dry, mix up some JB weld, you won't need a lot.........now apply to the injector collar......be careful with this stuff as it tends to "sag", stay with it until dry........I used the 6 minute version.....tech tip with resin in order to shape is lick your finger and ensure it's applied evenly.

After the resin starts to harden is still pliable.......keep at it until you have a uniform shape.

Should look something like this:

Now let it dry over night.

Once completely hard you can use some 80 grit sandpaper to address the contours, re-inspect the injector for leaks using the full can of degreaser alone. If no leaks are detected sand away!!

Should look like this once completed.

Image

Re-inspect the injector for leaks, if all good rub the resin down with 600 grit.

Apply your colour, grey for AC, black for AB or blue for Starion.

Image

Apply a few coats of clearcoat until shiny.

Post subject:  Re: Leaking fuel injectors around plastic body - How to fix

Re-test to ensure injector is leak free.........if OK fit back in injection mixer, be in mind that the injector will be a little "tighter" due to the resin.........quick tip, if your bottom seals are hard chuck them in some paint thinners for 30 mins......yes they will swell but return to pliable condition, just ensure they are dry before Assembly.

Injectors fitted and completed.

Feel free to ask any questions,

Cheers,
Andrew.

OK, if the injector won't fire clean the contacts......might take a bit as it did with your donated ones, just make sure you clean the sides as well as the top.

If I pulled the injector apart it would be destroyed.........mainly due to breaking the contacts.

As for dripping........that's a worn injector needle, can't fix that.
