That's Grant's old car, Matthew owns it now, that engine is a 63 as stated as part of the engine number and has full roller cam and hydraulic lash adjusters. You could tell the difference between the 63 and 62 as the rocker cover was a little different, the crossover pipe is completely different shape (longer) and painted metallic silver with red ECI TURBO lettering. |

I put a Galant/Sonata roller rocker/hydraulics lifters assembly in my Starion with no problems. I believe that I used the Galant camshaft though. |

Post subject: | Re: Stuff |
Why would you use the Galant camshaft.........it's 252 degree in duration where the JA is 264? |

Post subject: | Re: Stuff |
Because using a roller rocker on a slipper rocker type camshaft will change the valve timing. |

Post subject: | Re: Stuff |
Can't see how this changes the advertised cam duration? |

Post subject: | Re: Stuff |
Apologies to the guys from starquestclub forum who i stole the piucture from. See how the diameter of the roller is smaller than the diameter of the slipper. This will affect ramp rates and acceleration of valve opening. Using a roller rocker on a slipper cam will effectively make the cam smaller. |
