Avatars should be no more then 90 pixels high, 120 pixels wide and 9kb in size.

There are quite a few people now that have avatars exceeding (Some by more then 10x) the maximum allowable size. We have these limits to keep page load times down, to keep the tables a decent size, and so we don't have to look at incrediably annoying repeating gif's (think the Starion forum, and the majority of other car forums)

I've had a few complaints about this from various forum members so some of you are going to have to bring them down to more acceptable limits.

So, heres a list of the people with over the top avatars that need to tone them down a bit, so they know who they are:

speddie: 128wide, 128high, 138.98kb (!!!!)
mad_rx2: 200wide, 145high
blackGSR: 156wide, 120high, 20.35kb
a1091156: 168wide
Nizzy: 160wide

Images in signatures should also be of a reasonable size.

Not quite. But if oversized avatars are not taken care of, I will take care of them for you.

People with images in their sigs should be banned... That's what the avatar is for... Grrrrr!

Fixing mine now, give me a few minutes. :)

Ok, here's an easy way to tell.... if your avatar doesn't meet the following, it's too big.

Sick of seeing the side-bar thing filling up half the screen because someone has an avatar which is like 300px wide

cough.. just realised my avatar is 100x100, i'll delete it for now and fix it tonight..... but i don't think people mind if it's a little bit over, but some of the avatars i've seen have been excessive.

Yeh but I think it's an unspoken forum policy here to keep them below that size.... ;) Just to keep loading times down and the page sizes all uniform and not spacked out my uber wide avatars, hehehe.
