And there's alot of spam bot posts being deleted.

It's being addressed, and as said before; is often deleted within 24hrs, usually nowhere near that.

:)

i fear saying this but while it is great to have an active mod floating about clearing the bots and keeping things in line i still feel there is not enuf in place, these things should be gone within a couple of hrs tops.. i really think some fat needs to be trimmed, nameley mods that never come here anymore and a couple of the more active members promoted.. out of the 6 or whatever it is mods about only one of them owns a cordia after all

there is also debba... while he is visably the most active mod i feel he is getting a little power crazy for lack of better words.. there has been a couple of threads locked in the last week that didnt really need to be locked... dont get me wrong, its great to see the mod presence but over zealous mods can be the death of a site very quickly, i have been hanging around forum sites like this for over 10 years now and have seen in happen numerous times.. thriving site appoints a couple of new mods who become eager to make a name for themselves and go crazy with bans/locks/warnings etc for super minor infractions and sudenly the population just disapears

this thread makes a good example.
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=15231

the guy put lots of info in there and yes, should have used the tepmlate but a quick point in the dirrection of the template and a time limit to fix it and then lock it would come across alot nicer and also keep forum clutter down as now he has to make a new thread rather than editing that one

anyway.. thats my 2cents.

Jamie

When you say "a couple"... I don't think I've locked that many, and it's within the forum rules to use the templates.

After all the complaints about lack of info in for sale ads, I figured enforcing the use of templates would be the best way to address the issue. I think I've seen this happen before, when Asta/cowboy dan tried to do the same thing. You either make people happy because the info's there, or you piss people off by telling them to use the template.

the few other threads have been locked/deleted because they're absurd, and again not compliant to rules.

Seemingly I should take the same course of action he did, and just give up on it for the same reason.

As far as spam posts being gone within a few hours, they are. But mods aren't on 24/7, so there has to be some allowance. Kham up'd the security (again) a few days ago, seems to have worked, but as he's said before; it makes it harder for legit users to register.
