It's amazing what a 5 or 10 degree drop in temp does for extra torque and power. The evo loves it, it's just unfortunate that all too often in Melbourne cold weather means wet weather - granted it's fun, but sooooo frustrating to not get power down.

And Loss - after the clutch is replaced, maybe. Problem is, I like my license, and I'm not a big fan of dragging in the city (I'm a country boy from way back, where wide back roads abound, and the cops don't care).

And btw, I wouldn't mind seeing an engine melt into bite sized pieces - you can have my old one to replace yours when it blows, lol.

Well, living in the south island has it's advantages and disadvantages..... It's often cold without rain, but you can't get 98...

Hey,

Like everyone says, an N12 over a Cordia would be a poor choice.

However I have another suggestion. Get the next model up, with targa (is it an N13??). Turbo the standard CA18 or fit a CA18DET. Those Exas IMO look better than Cordias and the targa is hard to refuse.

I think they have 100 kW with the CA18, why would you want an ug-spec N12???? ;-)

I'll have to agree with that, there's no way I would consider it unless it was a N13 with the Targa top

If you were really keen on the n12 go a pulsar et, looks better & same engine and I think they put disc brakes on the back. You do get a garret turbo and MPI. But hey are only a 1.5 and they handle like poo!

Coincidence just saw the autospeed arcticle on them

Not trying to say buy one but, I'd go a cordia.

I had an exa for a while and wasn't a free running engine, meaning when when the timing belt broke the pistons hit all the valves, I'm dirty on them for that. Will the cordia pistions hit the valves???

Hey Nick - I PMed you on Saturday and still haven't heard back from you. Is the offer still open??

Stay tuned Loss as I'll be getting back to seeing as you also kindly offered to "take me for a burn".

BTW you will all be happy to know that I have decided to keep the "Silver Slug" and transform it into something decidedly better!!

All your comments were helpful in that regard, but what nailed it was the AWESOME amount of useful info that can be found on these forums. You guys certainly know your Cordias, but more importantly you are prepared to share that knowledge.

In comparison from scouring all the Exa forums I came to the conclusion that the average Exa punter has the IQ of a grated carrot, which amounts to the them being bloody useless when asking for info etc.

So strike another one up for the Cordia camp!

Now I just need a ride in a modded Cordia or two so I know what to expect when I do similar things to mine...............
