Just wondering what some of you have run in the 1/4 after a VR4 4g63T swap. please list mods times speeds etc.

Since mine is still in the shop Im curious to see how well others have done. I've been told I will see 13's with ease. I would like to believe that considering lack of mods.

So far whats done:
Stock 90 6 bolt 4g63T DOHC
.30 over
metal head gasket
Boost upped to 15lbs
No power steering
No AC
No balance shafts
3 inch exhaust
Even more removed weight
Hoping to be around 1800lbs dry weight.

So post up what you have and how you have done. Gtech times work as well.

Thanks

My best was a 14.2 with no mods to the engine, apart from a small front mount supra intercooler, running factory boost setting, which I think is 8psi. I only had a TD04 turbo though, cos my VR4 engine was out of an auto.

yeah I had seen that but I wanted a bit more info on the car and wanted to narrow it down.

So was wanting VR4s only and if your running power steering or not.
Obviously all cars are different as well as different elevations and such.

But was trying to see what I could expect out of this car. Stock 14b turbo.

Can I ask why you went for a 7 bolt engine? 6 bolts are damn common over there and have less issues

If you cant get there, grab a 16G ;)

6 bolts are less common here.
The 7 bolt was in good shape and was a good price. So it got a good freshening and a bit of other stuff. I might do a turbo upgrade but I think I would do a divorced o2 housing and cams first.

low 14's will be the mark for a vr4 cordia with basic mods necessary for a turbo car.

Am hoping for a bit more since there will be almost no power being pulled directly off of the engine in my car. It will only be spinning an alternator and water pump. So Im hoping mid to high 13's

mid 13's should be on the cards depending on 60ft time. i ran a 13.5 with a tc06 @ 15psi. since i have run a 12.3 @117 with my old turbo set up.

have yet to get a good run with the new turbo due to gearbox dramas, but it did run 124mph. good luck and let us know how you go..

traction is the real issue here if you learn how to drive it eg.dont just dump the clucth and bury the foot but control your revs and acceleration.

with this perfected 13's would be piss easy

now thats what i like to hear!!....i cant wait to cane some V8 ass at the drags up here in darwin!!

there was a fto running 17's here which is the best example of how not to drive a FWD coz he was smoking the tyres in the first 2 gears and by that time all the other cars had pissed off already....

but yeah i mite invest in some wider stickier rubber in the future.....

i estimate that a mofo'ing shitload of people aren't reading the friggin guidelines!!!!!!!!!!!

your car is going to run 1 minute 30, because you probably stuck a pod on, blew the engine, and rolled over the line!

however.. you could just run it as is, find the time yourself, and post the actual time up, rather than asking for an estimate. GO RUN IT!!!! it's more fun, and you get better and more accurate results than you'll ever get from asking here.
