I have recently replaced all of my globes (except the headlights) with LED.

I have now noticed if I turn on the hazard lights the relay just "chatters" without flashing the lights. I know there is now no "load" for the relay to work, so is there an aftermarket relay that will allow these globes to work?

Just a thought Andrew, But if you reversed this http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.as ... BCATID=347
You could in theory use it as a voltage stepper to increase rather than decrease?
I had a look around there doesn't seem to be much out there otherwise.
In the aus market anyway......

there are non load sensative flasher cans, might not be compatible with the plug though, cant remember where the cordia flasher is, in a bank infront of the drivers door isnt it?

if it was somewhere easy to get to you could always just cut the wires off and put spade terminals on them and plug them straight on to the can

Might just put the normal 12V globes back in for now until I can sort this out.

If these are available it would be the go, otherwise run in parallel 2x 12 ohm and 2x 15 ohm
10 watt resistors from the flasher can load wire to ground.
This will emulate your globes at 3.3 ohm but the resistors will get very hot if left on
for a long time as they will be dissapating approx 50 watts and are only good for 40 watts.

another option would be to make a small timer circuit using a 555 timer ic and a few other
components

try an auto elec, i asked mine how to fix the ute when i put led's on the back of it and he poked his nose under and pulled out the flasher can and went "that should work" went and grabbed a non load sensative one and pushed it in, only diference was it was round and the old one was square and the plastic locking tab that holds the old one needed to be persuaded out the way a bit more

I just unsoldered the load plug from the flasher unit to resolder it on the other side of the board and just stuffed it!................need to buy another one!!!!

To swap the wires over would be difficult Terrence, I've had my time laying under dashboards!

If you still want the tick tick sound just wire a automotive relay on the load wire to ground 8)
