Are you serious? When I got my engine registered I just made up a BS story about how my mechanic noticed that the number on the block was different to the sticker and they changed it on the spot, no questions asked. Cordias came STANDARD with those engines so no compliances should be nessesary anyway.

Getting info about these engines is quite difficult as AUS Mitsubishi don't know anything about them. I'd try going back and hopefully getting a different person and just say what I said. Thats crap that they told you to go get info on the engine, they should do it for you...And BTW, 131kw is more than 15% more powerful that 110kw.

You could ask Mitsubishi for the stats for the Sigma GSR, that had the 2.0L sohc in it, but chances are they wont know whats what.

What about one of those sales brouches from ebay from the 80's, will that be acceptable?

go to the library and ask the librarian for the cordia manual. it should include all specs and u can just photocopy it

As no Australian Cordia had a 4g63 in it, you will have to provide
specs from a vehicle that does have a 4g63 turbo. I suggest that
you find specs for a Starion and use that to compare with a Cordia.

I hope i don't have the same problem here in Victoria when i register one of my cordias with 2.0 l sohc

I don't think getting a engineers certificate is an aswer because you are still using same injection, afm etc don't need one.

The only difference is in the block, that's all.

You dont need to have a Cordia engineered for a Cordia.

I know, most time you ll get headaches from Vicroads if they don't know what they are talking about.
As long as you don't change your engine mounts you ll be ok That's the first thing Vr4 gets done for.
The reason they asked you to get some stuff about 2 L sohc is that they have no idea how different that engine is, so once you provide them with all details its all the same only the bore is different by 200cc
