For those of us not lucky enough to have a spare E101, what is the proper name /part number for the Bosch ignitor so I can get one.Or is it simply called an ignitor and its one size fits all?  Are there any mods needed or is it just a straight swap. Thanks

The easiest thing for you to do is grab another E101. But anyway if you want more reliability, then the Bosch module you want is a BIM021 (p/n 9 222 067 021). It is not a straight swap, there is a bit of rewiring involved and adjusting the timing. Also you lose your knock control feature. |

Thanks Coop. Found a link to the Cordia Freaks site detailing the conversion for a Starion. Different wiring setup. Any chance of a quickie guide for what wires you used on the Cordia? |

If you disconnect the E101, the plug should look like this: 1 - 7 6 2 3 4 5 With 1 being a 1.25mm green & black wire that goes to the boost sensor 2 is black and goes to the knock sensor 3 is white and goes to the distributor 4 is a 1.25mm red wire and goes to ignition 5 is white and black and goes to the coil negative 6 is black and earth 7 is black and goes to the distributor The Bosch module comes with the following pins 15 - ignition positive 16 - coil negative 3 - distributor (+) signal 7 - distributor (-) signal base - grounded through mounting bolt So basically fit the Cordia wire 3 to Bosch pin 3 Cordia wire 7 to Bosch pin 7 Cordia wire 4 to Bosch pin 15 Cordia wire 5 to Bosch pin 16 Cordia wire 6 to earthed mounting bolt The extra Cordia wires can be left disconnected. Next you need to check the timing, it will be out and probably wont run so crank the engine over and check with a timing light. If you get it running but it misfires when you accelerate at mid revs then the postive and negative signals from the distributor are the wrong way around ie. swap Cordia wire 3 & 7 Sorry it comes across as a bit complicated but its not really too bad. |

esky wrote: Was your E101 intermitant or did it just stop? Darned if I know. If it doesn't start usually I jiggle the connection and it fires up. But the other week it just would not start at all. It was getting fuel and the tacho wasn't moving so I assummed it was the E101. Called a sparky out to try and fix it and it started first go without him touching anything  The Cordia Gods are f#%king with me. Anybody know what the problem may have been?
