Post subject:  The defect 2.0

Hey all been awhile sorry ive been lazy
thought id update ev one whats happening with the red cord. and start new thread old ones to long and boring lol.

Took for an inspection, even though didnt pass(Jeremy Clarkson Failed) there only few little things
so hopefully i will get them fixed soon, most of it i can do myself i believe hopefully :/

Image
bluey and reddy are brothers now lol

Heres the list
Image

anyone know what egr looks like and where it has to be connected?

also one thing already ticked off
thanks iphone wheel calc app (theres an app for ev thing)
Image

also with the rear brakes ones not working properly, gonna overhaul them like i did previously
with the vr4 front twin pots i put on the front.
reading through brads stuff says there magna calipers, anyone know if this is correct?
and what model are they from, So can get the correct kit to repair them?
Image
Image

also just out of interest would a buckled rim have any effect on the braking test?
because one of the rear ones is buckled, had the same prob when got the blue cord
tested, same side as well i think for memory. just sounds bit weird.

also anyone know about koni adjustables, the front is too low only by 12mm :/
when removed the king springs from bluey i whacked some standard gsl springs in it
will these do for now just to raise it up, or wont they handle the weight?
is there much diff in the gsr and gsl cord front coil springs?

Thanks

Also for other people in SA for your info,
Boost gauges are legal. As long as you mount
Them off the dash ie not in the way of driver
Or passenger, where if you have an accident so
You don't hit it. They recommend in the console
I disagree with that too as takes ur eyes off
The road to look at it when it's down low. But anyway.

I'd be really interested to see you hit your head on that gauge, even without a seat belt i'm sure someone has done it tho (after removing the steering wheel and windshield and trying to drive)

The rear brake upgrade are generally off the TP, TM or TP Magna's all the same, im pretty sure a buckled rim wont effect braking too much. The springs just give the GSL ones a try or ask Clueless (Grant) he might have standard springs off the cordia turbo he just bought, Koni adjustables are only for ride eg. soft and hard settings unless you go coil overs and customise them to fit the front struts...

The boost gauge thing is silly and so is the
Tyre placard lol. But oh well.

Thanks for the brake and suspension info
Mate I'll give it ago.

One of my rear brake lines was partially blocked so you may want to check that too.

I love that it says you need a placard fitted, but then it says the rims dont match the placard....derp.

I have some brand new front and rear King springs here, I think they are only lows, so it should be Ok for height. EGR valve is located on the driver side of the inlet manifold under the throttle body, 2 bolt diamond shaped flange. Most people block them off.

Thanks for the info guys. Just out of interest
Where is the tyre placard usually stuck. I have one in
Bluey. It's inside the the driver side door arch
Below the the door latch thingo. But looks like has been
Peeled off before. What's best way to remove it
With out stuffing it up with a hair dryer?

Soap water, be very gental try not to use a blade but a bank card or something like it that wont cut it. then applie some sticky stuff to it and place it on the new car, clean it with something to remove dirt and grime or something to ensure it sticks and stays on

ok so this is why the battery cradle thing was loose
forgot to put the headlight squirter bottle backet back in which has the extra two
holes to mount it, was only 2 holding it at front
Image
Image
next problem wouldn't fit as there was a extra bracket made up for mounting brads piping
Image
i should of removed before the bay respray, but now its there and didn't want to stuff up the paint
so cut a bit out of the cradle only way around it
Image
now its in and nice and secure
Image

tyre placard was located here on bluey,
Image
so removed today (thanks cordiaaaturbo)
so installed it in the same place on reddy
Image

so few things of list now
