haha oh no worries.
yeah astina one fits in the space well. have to relocate the bottom mounts, and the tops however, but its not too hard. Much larger and lighter then the cordia one.

Today my bonnet arrived from @daveyz

Few nicks on corners, and a small ding on the front centre edge... but assuming this was in transit damage.
Eaither way nics will be easy fixed with some touch up paint.

Great bonnet otherwise. Will do.

Thanks Sanda :)

and more done.

After allot of mucking around, managed to get everything lined up perfect.

Bumper is held on/mounted differently, due to it simply having never fit properly since I got it, but made it fit. (thinking its not original and its an aftermarket copy)

Im very happy with it so far.
Just have to pull the light trims, and grill back off and put colour/clear on them

Yeah... its the main worm gear coming off the drive that's gone.

I'll have too see what I can source to repair it.

Only reason I checked was I pulled the dash back out to re-set the odo. But when checking noticed the worm gears dont spin with the drive, they are visibly worn down to nothing.

Yep! Sure is! Hoping to start on that process this week in the afternoons, after work.

Paint has had more the enough time to cure.

On the to do list still is.

- Front/rear skirts, headlight trims and grill need paint.
- Cut/buff/polish
- attach body side moulds and replica decals.
- paint and attach window trims/mirros.

Then we are pretty much done with the exterior looks.

Just have to do suspension drop at front (20mm) to compensate for the front hubs top control arm being higher then cordia ones. Put in my sway bars.
Make boot interior and mount battery properly, and a couple other bits and bobs on the interiour, then we are done :D!

Started cutting back/polishing the first panel on the Cordy

This is just Wetsanding then Initial Cutting compound worked in.

Still have 2 more steps to go (Fine polishing and swirl remover) to go before polishing is complete.

Already very smooth and clear!

I'm loving it too!

Must say though, I had the problem you where talking about.. I thought the panel was straight, but its not. Its close, but if you look down it from a sharp angle in person you can clearly see. But eh, only person who will probably notice is me!

Also quite happy I went for the premium DuPont paint over the motorspray I've used in the past. Now that its cured, it feels as hard as most other 2k's to me. As I have a small test panel thats been sitting as long as the rest of the car. I basically cant make a mark on it trying to dig my fingernail in it now that its been sitting there for 2 and a bit months!

With this thing finishing up soon, I shall be starting on the green one. (remember the one I gave you a lift in a few years back when you where up here?)
Gonna basically be doing what you did with your Blue AC. A stock resto.

Roof.

Needs more work, fair amount of orange peal still left in it, just hard to see in pic. Will take care of this after the rest of the car is complete, when I do the final polish.

Other then that entire car has had its initial wetsand, and cut back.

Going to start on the window trims tonight, need to sand them back and apply flexiprime followed by a urethaine flexable trim coating. Will possibly clear them, but not sure.
