Also fitted a set of wheels i had in teh shed when waiting for it to dry.
Trying to make a decision of what set of wheels the car should run.. Or do I just go buy some new ones that are exactly what i want?

As much as I enjoy and love bodywork and mechanics, no.

Pretty sure I'll always stay along the lines of IT and/or related things for my career, very happy in it and lots of room to keep moving up.
Just cant make the same money eaither in the bodywork realm (unless you become incredibly talented of course ;) ).

But other then the money, to be honest its actually something i enjoy just slowly doing and not being under pressure. If i was to do it for work i think it would hoenstly kill my love for it.
However when I'm older/semi retired i would enjoy opening up a from home business doing classic restorations or something, i could see myself doing that later in life :)

Prep is finally starting to come to an end.
But on the plus... The car is so far comming up pretty much dent/imperfection free. As far as I can tell.

P.s. Andrew your advice of putting more thinners in is really showing so far, even just on teh primer stage... I cant believe i was spraying it so thick before and not realizing I should thin it more then waht was on the mixing instructions on teh Tin...
So thanks for that advice I will ignore the lables from now on!!!

Right hand read now done as well.

This was the side the patches where performed on.
As you can see no evidence of patching exists. (except the area under where the bumper covers)

thanks buddy :)

No not going to be staying the same colour.
Going back to the stock colour.
The H39 Gunmetal Grey that it has on its compliance plate. Seeing as the motor has been swapped, i want the rest of the car to have an original resto feel to it. It will also be getting all the factory decals.

Roof half way prep'd.
First layer of primer and spray putty aplied in areas that looked a little uneven/rough, time to sand again then put a final layer of primer over it.

Also! Awesome news! I have a original lip kit i will have arriving in the next couple weeks :P!!

So a bit of an update here.

Got my kit from the depo at brissy friday afternoon.

Bit dissapointed at a few things. It has a never been fitted to a car before, so needs mounts made is the main thing. But none the less its in good nic. Thinking i'll put the prep of the kit on the backburner to after the car has been completed as is.

Heres some pics of it just sitting on the car. Seems to fit 'ok'

But on to other thinsg for the moment.

Dropped the fuel tank out of the blue parts cordia so I could get a few parts :)
Heres the fuel sender/pickup assembally. Im going to get it rebuilt and will swap it for mine, that way i will know how much fuel i have again ;P as miens screwed.

Also. Took the fuel pump as well. I tested it out, seems to run quiet and smooth. So going to swap my ebay fantastic one for this GSR one. (after i clean it up of course)

no more loud noises!

Also.. noticed somthing interesting.
My parts GSR has a 220km/h cluster, now yes i know thats normal for a GSR (unlike the GSL's 200km/h cluster).
But this one actually has a Volt metre. not a boost meter... Insinuating its a GSL cluster. I was under the impression there where no GSL clusters with a 220km/h.
It has a AutoMeter sticker on teh tacko behind the glass. So im thinking its custom/rebuild maybe?? Eaither way gonna chuck it in mine.

Which brings me to a funny convosation I had with my GF, after i told her the above she simply looked at me and said "Damien... Why do you need a 220km/h cluster?? hmm??"

:P
