Your car: DOHC 2.3 VR4 85 AB GSR
Immaculate Stock 86 AC GSR
Most of us have used the factory position (under the main crossmember) but we have used the cordia one not the VR4.

I created an aluminium bracket and installed it behind the lower apron. I angled it the same as the lower apron. I'll take a picture of it tomorrow.

I just mounted a bit of aluminium where the original oil cooler sat and then mounted the vr4 cooler to that. Took a bit of mucking around with cutting the aluminium to get the oil hose in a good spot. Had to cut a bit out of the oil cooler bracket as well. All depends on where and how big your intercooler is too.

Worked out ok, not the prettiest but it works. Except for the oil that wants to seep out of one of the bolts. I've tried everything...different bolts, washers, put some sealant on the thread and washers. I can't seem to plug it up. I have a feeling the cooler itself is cracked. If anyone has a spare vr4 oil cooler they want to sell let me know.

its in a good spot there, I thought it would hang alot lower , your intercooler is further back than mine , but I will give it ago

they do crack these oil coolers quiet easy , a cheap replacment is 1991 Verada V6 auto trans cooler , just flush it out well , there the same size too( cost about $15 from most wreckers )

or have you bought new washers from mitsubishi , its worth doing too even if you fit another oil cooler , as there alot thicker than the ones you have in the photo
