Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has attempted to rebuild their box themselves.
Wanting to put new bearings and synchros in.
Is it as simple as replacing components and reassembling? Or is there adjustments and tolerances that need to be followed?
Any help would be great.

it is not a simple task, you will need special tools and yes there are clearances.

I have messed around with a few in the past and did not really enjoy it.

It would be more feasible to just get a 2nd hand replacement. No need to spend $800+ for someone to rebuild it.

Ive done the second hand gearbox before,
Going to freshen up my original box so its hopefully good for a few years to come.
They are 28 years old after all

I have 2 good gearboxes for sale. $100 and $150
One overhauled. At the price it is not work getting one overhauled. By both and you have a back up.

Iv got spare boxes.
Price wasnt the issue. I wanted a box rebuilt with new components.
Im interested in the box thats been overhauled though.
Where abouts are you located?
