Your very safe with a 62........all the timing marks will stay put (not like DOHC which spring back).......just make sure it's top dead centre and you have put a screwdriver into the offside balance shaft (oil pump) through the 14mm bolt........it's located on the firewall side.......once you have done this it's all easy.

A wedge of timber knocked down also helps keep the belt in place.

Pointless.

You have to reapply/slide the camshaft seal onto the cam properly. So no, you cant zip tie the cam sprocket. Plus i bet you will damage your seal in the process, fit the new cam, then you will have an oil leak etc. Do it properly.

Are you for real?

You CAN change a cam with the belt cable tied to the pulley.....I've done it, and this bullshit about the oil seal is ridiculous as the all the rocker gear including the oil retaining section comes out!!

Therefore you CAN replace the front oil seal.

Yeah you can do it, but you have to keep tension on the belt. I did it but annoyingly the balance shaft moved and it was out by 1 tooth. Just fit a new seal if you are worried about oil leaks.
